Intact, the provider of business management software solutions, has announced a new partnership with Robert Pochin Ltd, the Leicester-based plumbing and heating supplies business.
P
ochins are a senior PHG member with 32 branches, who specialise in plumbing and heating supplies, complemented by bathroom
showrooms. The company has embarked on an aggressive growth strategy, at approximately four branches per year. This current IT collaboration marks a significant milestone for both companies as Pochins upgrade its current business management software platform to Intact iQ.
The Partnership
After outgrowing their legacy system, Pochins have recognised the need for a more robust and modern solution to support their expansion plans. Impressed by Intact iQ’s capabilities and the positive experiences of their peers within the PHG group, Pochins chose to partner with Intact.

We’re particularly pleased with the cultural fit between our organisations – as independently owned, friendly, and approachable businesses, we’ve found a true synergy.”
Key Benefits
Intact iQ offers Pochin a comprehensive suite of benefits tailored to their growth strategy. The system provides enhanced visibility and control across all 28 branches, improving margin tracking on orders and modernising workflows and processes for its 150 users. Its scalability will support Pochins’ ambitious plans to grow, while real-time business metrics and insights will empower informed decision-making. These features collectively will position Pochins for sustained growth and operational excellence in
the competitive plumbing and heating supplies market.
Glynn Barrington, finance director, stated: “Here at Robert Pochin Ltd we are excited to be working with Intact as we change our ERP system in 2025.
“This partnership will give us the tools to continue the growth of our branch network, with a strong sales system to help maintain our high levels of customer service backed up by excellent data, reporting and connectivity.”
Implementation plans The company plans to add Intact’s in-built document management and business intelligence tools as they become more familiar with the system.
The planned go-live date is set for summer 2025, allowing for a comprehensive implementation process to ensure a smooth transition. BMJ
TOOLSTATION INTRODUCES RAPID DELIVERY Toolstation partners with TradeKart
T 22
oolstation, part of Travis Perkins plc, has launched a new rapid same-day delivery service with
TradeKart. This will deliver orders directly to site, with the first phase rolling out in November. It means that plumbers, builders, electricians and decorators can access over 10,000 products for delivery in as little as one hour. The market-leading service supports tradespeople and DIYers who need access to materials whilst still on site or completing a job; helping them save time, and the hassle of leaving a site which can cause delays to jobs. It launches after research by Toolstation found that 28% of tradespeople said that a same-
day delivery service would make a positive difference to their business. The research also found that the average tradesperson in the UK currently loses over three hours a week collecting materials from stores; a huge cost and time burden. The new delivery service gives thousands of tradespeople access to essential tools and supplies, ready to handle any unexpected situation.
The rapid service will initially be available at 44 Toolstation stores across the UK, covering London, Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh, before being rolled out across Toolstation’s store network. Customers can check to see if the service is available
in their area by checking their delivery postcode at www.
tradekart.com.
TradeKart, the UK’s fastest- growing trade marketplace, offers a rapid delivery service which acts as the conduit between tradespeople and merchants. Customers simply place their order on the TradeKart app and can then track it from store to door in real time for a £5 delivery fee. Chris Other, Customer Director at Toolstation, said: “This rapid delivery service will enable us to go even further to meet the needs of our customers. We know how busy they are and the challenges they face when working on site, and no one
wants to down tools and spend time battling traffic to pick up a specific product. Partnering with Tradekart means that we can provide customers with the ultimate convenience that will keep them on the job.” Alistair McAuley, founder and CEO of TradeKart, said: “We’re thrilled to launch this exciting new partnership with Toolstation which will give tradespeople across the UK access to their extensive range of materials on demand, wherever and whenever they need them. Time is one of our most valuable assets and this service will ensure tradespeople can focus on what they do best, putting this wasted time and money to better use.” BMJ
