he new year has not offered the prosperity we hoped for the housewares industry and another lockdown is upon us. Non-essential retail has been forced to close for the third time in the past year. It is difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel when we aren’t sure whether we are coming or going but the industry continues to find new ways to adapt. he sunshine has finally made an appearance of what continues to be an unpredictable year. As you are reading this it will be June and we are very much halfway through 2021, time is certainly fleeting. ’m glad to be seeing shows preparing for the end of the year, new product launches, and look forward to seeing many of you at Exclusively in a few months’ time. Shops have been open for nearly two months now and I hope it’s been as busy as anticipated and a welcome return to doing what we love in the industry. Be it socialising, getting back to work, or perusing the local high street - I for one am glad that life is getting back to how we know it.
