Crestron

Crestron has partnered with CoolAutomation to provide native BACnet integration with Crestron Home OS 3.

Integrators now have the ability to customise the BACnet modules within

the Crestron Home app to ensure ease of installation. This solution is ideal for MDU applications where there is a centralised BACnet controlled HVAC system. Instead of manually commissioning each unit individually, integrators can now deploy thousands of units with one touch using the MyCrestron deploy code concept. Michael Short, global residential marketing manager, said: “Having the ability to configure thousands of HVAC devices at one time is a huge advantage for our dealers. Pairing with Crestron Home, homeowners are now provided with the same OS 3 climate control feature sets they know and love.”

Working closely with CoolAutomation has simplified the installation process by providing simple-to-install hardware and native integration with the latest Crestron Home operating system ensuring a true plug- and-play solution perfect for any size deployment. www.crestron.com

Micron Sprayers

Micron Sprayers has released new low energy, low maintenance OEM industrial range of precision rotary atomisers for adiabatic cooling and humidification. Micron rotary atomisers produce precisely controlled droplet sizes which

can be selected according to spray application requirements while offering low maintenance and energy requirements. Now Micron has developed new designs using brushless motor technology for prolonged and maintenance free operation. Two models are available, a larger direct drive unit with flow capacities of up to 180 litres an hour and the more compact Micromiser unit which can provide spray rates of up to 18 litres an hour. Each atomiser produces a fine mist of droplets ideal for mounting as integrated parts of AHUs or directly in-room as a low energy humidification and cooling solution.

Micron’s centrifugal energy atomisers do not require high liquid pressures or small orifices resulting in less risk of blockages as well as eliminating nozzle wear and any associated degradation of spray quality.

ECEX

ECEX has published a guide to air handling unit (AHU) refurbishment. John Grenville, managing director of ECEX, said: “Conventional wisdom dictates that AHUs should be replaced

every 10 to 15 years, depending on use and maintenance over that time. There is, however, a potentially far more cost-effective way to proceed than replacement - refurbishment and/or upgrade. ” ECEX’s AHU guide defines refurbishment, explains its business benefits, identifies suitable candidates for refurbishment, and describes the critical importance of maintenance.

AHU Refurbishment Guide - ‘avoiding expensive replacements and improving the efficiency of AHUs’, looks at the refurbishment of fans, filters, coils and dampers, and explains the implications on AHU overhaul of the latest Ecodesign Directive.

Ryan Hawken, ECEX contracts manager and AHU specialist, commented: “On a recent AHU upgrade project, we calculated that we could provide an estimated 22% - 33% energy saving by upgrading the fans.”

Panasonic

Panasonic’s new Heat Pump Chiller series ECOi-W offers heating and cooling capacities from 20kW to 210kW and has high SEER/SCOP values. With quiet operation and a compact footprint, the series is designed for easy service and maintenance. The new range comes fully equipped with high quality components such as defrost limiting coils, low noise kits and Blue Fin anti-corrosion coating as standard.

The entire range is cloud-compatible with convenient remote control and maintenance to optimise costs, every model is also fitted with a user friendly control panel. It also interfaces with established Building Management Systems (BMS) and VRF systems. The ECOi-W series operates in heating mode at outdoor temperatures as low as -17°C and in cooling mode at outdoor temperatures up to 50°C. Thanks to a defrost limiting coil design, a maximum 15% higher COP is achieved. The maximum water outlet temperature range for heating is 50°C and 55°C for sizes 140- 210kW.
