New c ondenser produced at Germ an factory


T


he first new condenser manufactured by Bitzer in Rottenburg-Hailfingen has


been delivered to a French customer. Bitzer acquired the Alfa Laval


portfolio of shell and tube evaporators and condensers for air conditioning and refrigeration applications in April 2018. Until May 2019, these products were manufactured in the Alfa Laval factory in Alonte, Italy, for Bitzer. Ever since, production has been in the process of being transferred to the Bitzer HEXPV (heat exchangers and pressure vessels) factory in Germany. In July 2019, the first new Bitzer condenser was manufactured in Rottenburg-Hailfingen and was shipped to a customer.

TCUK honours Cool Designs

oshiba Carrier UK (TCUK) has honoured Cool Designs (CDL) for 15 years of successful


distribution of T oshiba and CIAT products. The milestone was acknowledged at TCUK’s recent


distributor conference, held at its new Stockport office.


CDL began distributing T oshiba air conditioning products in 2004 and later added CIAT when it was acquired by Carrier in 2015 and added to the TCUK portfolio.


“CDL is ou r longest serving UK distributor,” said TCUK business development director, Neil Hitching. “Ou r collaboration has been highly successful, with CDL delivering outstanding customer support for the T oshiba and CIAT ranges to its growing customer base. CDL recently moved to a new head office on the banks of the River T in Gateshead, adding 11,000 square feet of warehouse space to fu rther improve stocking levels and customer response times, and providing an additional 3,000 square feet of office space. The new facility includes a trade counter and an enlarged air conditioning training centre, catering to increasing demand for the company’s high quality technical training courses for installers and service companies.

Rottenburg-Hailfingen site has been undergoing an expansion process, adding more production capacity and jobs, amongst others, for HEXPV production. The factory has already been producing Bitzer heat exchangers and pressure vessels since 1985.


By the end of 2019, manufacturing of the former Alfa Laval portfolio will be completely transferred to the Bitzer site in Southern Germany. Mixed orders of compressors and condensers are already possible and mixed orders of compressors and evaporators will be possible as of 2020.
