NEWS Aermec sponsors Essex Royals FC A
ermec UK is sponsoring the Wickford based under 11s blues team of Essex Royals Football Club. The company is supporting the club by funding their kit to help provide the team with the facilities they need for the next two seasons. Aermec is also helping to fund training equipment including mobile goals, bibs and training ladders, which can be prohibitively expensive for many clubs.
Essex Royals Football Club plays at Barleylands in Billericay, close to Aermec’s headquarters in Basildon. Paul Lawrence, managing director of Aermec is very supportive of the Essex Royals FC, believing it is important for businesses to invest in their local communities and help provide young people with sporting opportunities in their locality. “Building relationships with local organisations can benefit everyone. Sponsoring the local team gives Aermec an opportunity to give back to the community – many of our employees and their families live locally – it helps raise our profile but more importantly it echoes our company’s ethos of valuing individuals, encouraging and promoting their well-being and enabling them to grow.
“Football is a fantastic way of encouraging young players at grass roots levels to work collaboratively, build relationships whilst helping to develop the footballers of tomorrow.”
Essex Royals Football Club was founded in 1986. It rapidly expanded and during the 90’s established its ‘football for all’ philosophy enabling anybody to
SBS Birmingham holds open day
S
BS Birmingham held an open day on 05 July. The event began with customers, staff and suppliers celebrating the opening of the relocated Birmingham branch. Special guest, Andy “the hammer” Hamilton, attended and challenged the attendees to beat him at darts. Mr Hamilton is a former world finalist and a runner-up in the 2007 Grand Slam and 2013 UK Open.
Steve Bath from Polypipe Building Services, won the competition and he received signed memorabilia as he was the closest to the three darts challenge set by the professional.
There was also a golf simulator where people competed to get the longest drive and to get nearest the pin. Respectively, the winners were Aaron Evans from Trinity Heat Care and Darcy May from Davant. Customers were able to enjoy a hog roast and refreshments, along with having the opportunity to meet and socialise with the Birmingham staff and key manufacturers connected to the industry. Just over 11 years ago in 2008, SBS Birmingham was opened. This was the sixth branch to open within the Smith Brothers branch network. The Birmingham branch is now part of a 15-depot network located across England and Wales.
Andy Clements, West Midlands & North West regional manager, said: “It was great to launch the new branch with a fantastic day. At SBS we’re all about service, and to now have a 28,000 sqft branch full of stock it will enable the branch to support more customers and offer a great service.”

F Solutions has partnered with Fujitsu General Air Conditioning UK, along with Pump House and Conex Bänninger’s MaxiPro, to supply and install a heat recovery VRF air conditioning system at The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice in Staffordshire. Taking its name from a young local girl, Donna Louise Hackney, who sadly died from a life-limiting condition at the age of sixteen, The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice was first registered as a charity in 1999; responding to the need for a children’s hospice for both Staffordshire and Cheshire.
Fundraising allowed for a community
nursing team to be established in 2002; providing care for children and families in their homes. In August 2003 the doors opened on a purpose-built and fully equipped hospice to ensure that a high-quality palliative care service is available in the local area.
TF Solutions has supported The Donna Louise Hospice as its nominated charity over the last 10 years, through numerous fundraising events. Supported by an array of volunteers, this donation is the second occasion that TF Solutions have collaborated with long-term partner Fujitsu General Air

Conditioning UK to supply and install air conditioning equipment into the hospice. Dedicating time to install the project, Simon Dunkley, managing director of The Air Conditioning & Ventilation Company said: “It’s such a pleasure to be able to give time and resource to assist with such a worthy cause. The installation serves a mixture of bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways and offices. Ducted units were used and located in the loft space to allow any service activities to take place in the future, without having to disturb any families occupying quite sensitive areas.” Speaking about the system selection, Ian Carroll, chief operating officer, Fujitsu General Air Conditioning UK said: “The adjustable external static pressure on each of the ducted units meant that the air movement through each room could be carefully set to the most appropriate level, creating a noise and draught free environment. Individual control was provided to each area for complete localisation in terms of environment.” Jane Jones, head of care at The Donna Louise Hospice said: “This amazing gift has made such a big difference to the children, young people and families. We have had such positive comments from parents, all saying what a generous gift this is.”
come and play football. In 2009 the club expanded further with the addition of a girls’ team and the Essex Royals also achieved Community Charter Standard, which is the highest level that can be achieved under the FA Charter Standard. “Aermec is looking forward to some great football from Essex Royals. We will be looking out for the team’s results and progress for the coming seasons. Their enthusiasm and drive echoes many of Aermec’s values. We hope that other businesses will also be inspired to invest in their communities and encourage more youngsters to participate in sport,” added Mr Lawrence.
