BRODERICK’S

Big-hearted response to Broderick’s App appeal to provide snacks for NHS Heroes

R

egular readers of Vending International will have heard of vending and refreshments specialists Broderick’s barista quality bean to cup coffee, their wide range of up-to-the- minute ‘new gen’ snacking choices - including healthy and ‘free from’ options. But, above all everyone’s talking about Broderick’s pioneering loyalty and rewards app Pay4Vend, the 21st century approach to cashless vending, which has brought some fun into workplace vending, with its fabulous competitions, incentives and promotions. What many of you may not be aware of though is the fabulous

flexibility of Broderick’s awesome app and the role it is playing in supporting our NHS heroes as the coronavirus pandemic has hit lockdown Britain. Members of the public, Broderick’s suppliers and even competitors in the vending sector wanting to give their vote of thanks and support to our frontline NHS teams have found an amazing new application for the Broderick’s app – using it to pass on their love and appreciation to frontline NHS staff at Stockport’s Stepping Hill Hospital.

BRODERICK’S GET THE BALL ROLLING It was Broderick’s who first got the ball rolling by generously donating a series of £10 vending machine top ups for NHS staff members at Stockport’s Stepping Hill Hospital who signed onto the Broderick’s app. Then, people at several local firms, suppliers and even competitors, all inspired by Broderick’s generous gesture that they’d heard about on social media, contacted Broderick’s to enquire how they could help. In no time a Just Giving page was set up and customers also offered to use the app in an entirely new way – as a means of pledging support to the NHS by buying free snacks for NHS workers for much-needed refreshments as they fought the pandemic on the frontline. Backing for this big-hearted initiative is growing daily and it is

predicted that Broderick’s app users will have donated hundreds of snacks for NHS staff by pledging and donating money that will top up the NHS staff’s app as a vote of thanks for everything they are doing in these tough and unprecedented times. Broderick’s Pay4Vend is spreading the love for our NHS staff – and rightly so! Commenting on this amazing new application for Pay4Vend, company MD John Broderick said: “We are so proud that Broderick’s Pay4Vend can be used in this way in lockdown Britain to give a vote of thanks to our NHS staff. The monies and messages of support have been greatly received and lovingly donated from our customers and true to form, the vending sector being the friendly

sector it is, we’ve also had generous donations from some suppliers and competitors alike. “Reassuringly, in these times, the NHS workers know that all the

products in Broderick’s vending machines have only been handled by one operator since being manufactured.”

INCREASED CUSTOMER DEMAND FOR THE APP DURING PANDEMIC Broderick’s is encountering increased demand for the app from its customers during the coronavirus pandemic – as its flexibility and its cashless vending capabilities are proving invaluable. In the past, HR departments at Broderick’s customers who hadn’t yet signed up for the app could reward their staff by turning on a free drinks override on company machines. However, in these challenging times the HR teams want to reward each and every member of their staff equally in the current challenging times – not just the hot drinks fans. The app enables them to do just that – so companies now have the flexibility to extend these free incentives to energy drinks, protein bars etc which is proving very popular with customers and their teams. As John Broderick outlined: “Pay4Vend rewards can be controlled by our customers in-house, making it perfect for instant morale- boosting treats in recognition of individual or team efforts. This system has been adopted by many critical sector companies to reward their staff during the pandemic. “And, with

hygiene a major consideration the app’s hassle-free cashless payment options are also proving a must- have for many companies.”
