KEPAK Ready-for-market convenience
Carl Hunter, New Business Development Manager at Kepak Group, the home of Rustlers, talks to Vending International about the reasons behind launching the brand into the vending channel and future plans for the company.
A brief background on Kepak Kepak is a global food company serving retail and foodservice prime cuts of meat, on-trend food concepts and ready-for-market convenience foods, including Rustlers, a leading chilled convenience food brand. With over 50 years’ experience in meat craft, the company still leads the way with bespoke innovations and highly successful international food brands.
How is vending evolving and what part will you play in meeting the sector’s changing needs? The fast-growing micro-markets concept is having a big impact on the vending channel. The concept provides the ideal option for companies looking for alternatives to costly catering solutions to provide hot, fresh and tasty meal options 24/7, every day of the year. Rustlers aligns perfectly with this as we’ve been taking the lead in
great tasting hot, quick and convenient food solutions for many years whilst micro-markets offer customers a wide choice of quality products to cater for different times of the day. This seems to be a key factor in the success of the concept so far.
We’re already
working with a number of innovative companies, building great relationships and bringing ideas to life. It has been a really rewarding experience so far and we’re
looking forward to developing a bright future for Rustlers as part of the vending channel.
What feedback have you had so far? Rustlers has secured a number of listings already and is available in a range of different settings including workplaces, sports centres, universities and transport hubs. The response so far has been extremely positive from all stakeholders – employees, catering teams and management. We believe Rustlers has huge potential in the channel.
What are your future plans for the channel? We will continue to develop and work with our partners to introduce new ranges and meal deals for the sector, in addition to tailored marketing support. Alongside this, we are also developing hot food vending, branded vendors and other Rustlers-branded market opportunities to sit alongside any concept. We will also continue to engage with Vendex and AVS, both of which have been really supportive, and will work closely with our customers to create long term business plans to support the anticipated growth within the sector in the years ahead.
