UK’s largest WEEE producer compliance scheme unveils new identity and sustainability services

A

ſter two decades of compliance excellence, REPIC is evolving into

Ecogenesys, marking an exciting new chapter as an environmental compliance scheme and sustainability consultancy. Building on its trusted 20 year legacy, Ecogenesys will continue delivering expert compliance services while expanding into sustainability consultancy, helping organisations navigate increasingly complex regulations, circular economy practices, and environmental responsibilities.

The name Ecogenesys combines three

powerful ideas: · ‘Eco’ is ecosystem, it represents a strong commitment in helping to protect the planet and its environmental ecosystem. · ‘Genesis’ signifies the creation of fresh possibilities and innovative approaches and progress towards a circular economy with smart, efficient solutions. · ‘System’ stands for the ecosystem of our

services, designed to provide the complete support needed to navigate challenging compliance demands. Abs Bokhari, Executive Chairman of Ecogenesys, reflects on the strategic vision for the future: “Ecogenesys isn’t just a new name – it’s a renewed commitment to being the trusted partner for businesses looking to navigate the future of compliance with confidence. “This new era is about delivering forward

thinking, innovative solutions that support businesses on their journey towards a more sustainable and circular economy. We are excited by the opportunities it brings for our members and the industry as a whole.”

Ecogenesys remains committed to supporting UK and European scheme members with WEEE, battery, and packaging compliance, while enhancing its services with strategic guidance in environmental research, carbon solutions, packaging consulting, and product returns / reuse services. This evolution reinforces Ecogenesys’ commitment to leading and shaping producer responsibility and supporting its members to adopt innovative, responsible solutions.

Graeme Milne, Chief Executive of Ecogenesys, commented: “Our transition to Ecogenesys comes as we increase the services we offer to our members, helping them to fulfil their evolving environmental responsibilities. This evolution aligns with the shifting needs of our producer members, allowing us to support them in a broader range of areas; navigating an increasingly complex sustainability landscape.” With a renewed focus on collaboration, innovation and generating meaningful impact, Ecogenesys embarks on a new chapter, dedicated to supporting its members with the knowledge, tools and strategies needed to drive environmental progress today and for the future. About Ecogenesys: Established in 2004, Ecogenesys, formerly REPIC, is an industry- leading approved compliance scheme for Waste Electricals and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), Batteries and Packaging. Founded by producers of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE), for EEE producers, we operate as a not for profit, member-owned organisation. This approach guarantees that scheme members pay only the true cost of compliance while having a direct voice in shaping the way we operate.
