Editor Report: Waterline Has You Covered

A Turnkey Supplier to Support Independent Retailers Requires Loyal and Dedicated Personnel

Hearing so many fabulous comments from retailers regarding Waterline’s quality of service Linda Dorling and I were extremely privileged to accept an invite to visit to the Crown Imperial/Waterline showroom in Daventry.

W

armly welcomed by Waterline’s CEO, Michael Marriott and Sales

Director, Rob Taylor, our expectations of a single fl oor display were totally dashed as we stepped out on the upper fl oor of a two- storey showroom. Retailers who have already visited, will

appreciate the somewhat, wow factor we also faced on our arrival. Rob Talor highlighted, “Waterline is made

of many important pieces of a large jigsaw, contributing, the Daventry showroom off ers a unique experience to view over 50 kitchen displays. Not only will you see an unrivalled range of furniture, but every appliance, sink, tap, worktop and accessory can also be sourced through Waterline.” “Plus, with over £7 million of stock spread

over three warehouses, Waterline off ers every product needed to install a kitchen. Sourced from one company, covered on one invoice, delivered on one truck, allowing you to focus on what matters.” Michael Marriott also mentioned another piece of the jigsaw is the importance to fully support the independent kitchen retailers by listening and working alongside. “After several years as an online version only, Waterline’s Blue Book returned to print for summer 2024. With

products and prices available quarterly, the latest edition covers more than 470 pages of kitchen design inspiration including appliances, sinks & taps, furniture and accessories.” Michael continued, “This aid is simple to

navigate with clear pricing and order details throughout, the Blue Book also includes the latest off ers exclusively available to Waterline customers.” In fact, to quantify this claim we noticed an

excellent Tracey Bond, Director at Kitchen Culture

in Kent sums up the embedded culture of “Waterline has been our supplier of choice for many years, for many reasons. The convenience of one delivery for furniture, appliances and associated products is incredibly benefi cial to us, but the people we deal with on a daily basis are the real reason for our continued loyalty. They are a pleasure to deal with, and always keen to help if we have an issue.” During an informative tour around the

showroom viewing the many attributes of each display, Michael and Rob were very keen to state, whilst the vast availability of products play an important role, the continued emphasis throughout our visit was the support role of all departments playing an even greater part of the company’s success, thus completing the jigsaw.

“We are extremely fortunate to have the loyalty

of the Waterline staff , in all departments,” Robert mentioned. “In fact, we are blessed with having many with over 20 years of service, who continue to support our valuable customers over the decades.” Mentioning the IER page tag line, ‘People Make

the Diff erence’, there is no doubt Waterline have this embedded in its DNA. Independent retailers rely on many people

from all departments, whom they may never see, albeit they may have been speaking with them for many years. Whilst Rob Taylor calls himself ‘the gobby one’ he leads from the front, hence, his positive approach with empathy for the customers rubs off to produce a caring company. For this reason, it’s only fi tting to bring to the

attention of our independent retailer readers, a list of those other important people who form a major part within the Waterline jigsaw. Many retailers may therefore recognise several names below, so next time you chat it will be reassuring your business is in safe hands as they have over 20 years of respect and loyalty: Rob Taylor, Sales Director - 39 Years: Fiona

Clarke, Warehouse Administration Supervisor - 38 Years: Ian Parsons, Purchaser - 36 Years: Helen Stockley, Product File Database Manager – 36 Years: Caroline Murphy, Purchase Ledger Controller
