Hughes Trade opens larger branch as sales hit record H

ughes Trade has relocated its Cambridge operation to larger

premises on the outskirts of Huntingdon as it announces a record year – with latest figures showing the company grew by 23 per cent and hit a £20m turnover.

The new branch, off Junction 23 on the A14, will carry a much larger range of stock than previously and is managed by Grentham Rush. It was officially opened by long standing customer Ian McCulloch from McCulloch Direct Ltd. Said Hughes Trade General Manager, Paul Chisnall: “We simply outgrew our Cambridge

exel UK is gearing up to become an Industrial Controls Partner of Siemens

facility and needed more space. The new branch is in an ideal location on the Stukeley Meadows Industrial Estate, right by the A14. “Our vans will be able to deliver to

customers in Huntingdon, Cambridge, Kettering, Bedford, Newmarket, Wellingborough, Corby and St Neots. “This is another part of the continuing

growth of the business. Last year was a record for us built on giving great service to new and existing customers both at home and overseas. We also opened new branches in Leeds and Leicester.” Hughes Trade operates from 14 branches across the country with 50 employees.

Grentham Rush left, with colleagues Scott Perry and Carol Bassam outside the new Hughes Trade branch in Huntingdon.

Industrial GB&I. The move will see Rexel gain more share in the

Rexel to become Siemens Industrial Controls Partner R

automation market place, with nine key Rexel branches across the country distributing Siemens industrial control products. These branches will be considered Siemens

Industrial GB&I partner branches and are located in Sheffield, Crayford, Runcorn, Leeds, Falkirk, Aberdeen, Birmingham, Oxford and Norwich. The teams are undergoing training and support from Siemens to become technical distributors for the offer. Siemens Industrial GB&I are one of the largest

suppliers of Industrial Control & Automation products in the UK and are continuing to grow and increase their market share – something that Rexel plans to support. The new offer will include a range of products, from simple pushbuttons, contactors, intelligent motor control, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) to Logic Module Technology and a full motor offer to IE requirements. Mark McCall, Category Manager at Rexel, said: “We’re

delighted to be working with Siemens to distribute their great offer at key branches around the country. Our teams are undergoing training now from Siemens and via Webinars and the product offer is already available.”
