LEW celebrates branch opening in Warrington


branch in Warrington on Monday 11th of November. They will open to the trade and public on Gateway 49 Trade Park, a popular trading estate in north Warrington, with an experienced team who have close ties to the local area. Warrington, which is LEW’s 12th branch to date, will be managed by David Gill. David has over twenty years’ experience in the electrical wholesale industry and has been Assistant Manager at LEW’s Bury branch since 2015. Commenting on the opening of the branch, David says ‘I’m

excited to bring LEW’s award winning service to Warrington and the wider area. I have no doubt our customers will enjoy visiting our new modern branch in Warrington and meeting our expert team. We have four keen members of staff at the branch with a combined 30 years’ experience working in the North West’s electrical wholesale industry.’ Working alongside David in Warrington will be Assistant Branch Manager, Michael Doherty, Warehouse Manager, David Hammell, and Van Driver, Matt Gilhooley. LEW recently celebrated its 25th anniversary this


September, and Warrington will be the first branch to open since the Mansfield and Wakefield branches in 2017.

technical complexity of electrical distribution was put in the spotlight when one of its young stars took a major title at the sector's most important awards ceremony. Rian Keegan, 20, from


East Kilbride, was named as Electrical Distributors' Association (Scottish Section) Wholesaler Apprentice of the Year 2019. Winner Rian said: “There was a huge response for the apprentice post with CEF and I


am very grateful to them, and the teams I work with, for showing faith in me and giving me this great chance. “After successfully completing my apprenticeship in Warehousing and Storage, I was


delighted to be offered a permanent Sales Assistant role at CEF in Glasgow. To win this award is an enormous incentive for me, and I plan to take every opportunity to progress my career in electrical wholesaling.” Rian’s award was presented by Angela Devine, Apprenticeship Account Manager at


EDA Apprenticeships Plus, and Andrew Burt, Chair of the EDA Scottish Section and MD of Glasgow-based AIB Electrical Wholesale. EDA Apprenticeships Plus, who also sponsored the awards, manages the Association’s UK-wide apprenticeship programme.
