There are wireless programmable room
thermostats, and options for boost control to provide extra heating at the press of a single button. Timeguard has also retained the popular dial-controlled option for electronic thermostats. Originally conceived as being easier for older users, these almost-retro designs prove popular across all age groups.
Precision control Timeguard has built in user-set swing control to help homeowners maintain steady temperatures while optimising boiler cycling. Put simply, it means that the home owner can choose a range of 1° or 0.5° around a set temperature within which the thermostat will not trigger the boiler.
So for example, if the chosen temperature is 20° and the swing control is set to 0.5°, then the thermostat will off the heating system if the room temperature rises past 20.5° and on again if the room falls below 19.5°. Such small variations make a big difference in comfort where people are sedentary. If the swing is set at 1°, say where there’s a lot of foot traffic and doors are opened and closed a lot, then only bigger variations will cause the heating to turn on and off.
