electronica 2018

electronica 2018 – 17 full halls and much more

electronica 2018 will once again give the world’s electronics industry the chance to get together in Munich – November 13 to 16. electronica is the largest trade fair dedicated to all aspects of electronics technology and gives visitors the chance to see all the major players from the key sectors including semiconductors, power, interconnection, embedded and test and measurement

exhibition ground, the halls are clearly structured and signposted. For added interest, electronica and SEMICON

Europa will be co-located for the first time in Munich in November. SEMICON Europa focuses on the electronics manufacturing supply chain with an emphasis on semiconductor production. SEMICON Europa is known as an advanced and innovative electronics manufacturing platform and will feature more than 400 exhibitors in the fields of semiconductor production and printed and organic electronics.

ccording to show director Angela Marten, it also gives visitors the chance to learn more about developments considered

important in the future. Topics at this year’s event will include automotive, embedded solutions, medical electronics, wireless, industrial IoT, cyber security, AI and wearables. A comprehensive programme of conferences and forums will explore these key industry topics in greater depth and, for the first time, the successful event SEMICON Europa will be held alongside electronica.

17 full exhibition halls and so much more As always, electronica 2018 will be more than just an exhibition where more than 3000 exhibitors will show their products and services to over 70,000 visitors. There are to be special areas of interest spread throughout the 17 exhibition halls and, to help visitors navigate their way around such a comprehensive trade fair, all the exhibition halls at electronica are devoted to specific product sectors such as semiconductors, power supplies, test and measurement, E-Mech and so on. Conferences and many forums Four international conferences with prominent speakers (up from three in 2016) as well as a comprehensive forums program (held throughout the exhibition halls) will feature high-class lectures, panel discussions as well as roundtable discussions on the industry’s latest market and technology topics. The electronica conference programme focuses on the challenges of electronics and its applications. In addition to the established conferences – the electronica Automotive Conference (eAC), the electronica Embedded Platforms Conference (eEPC) and the Wireless Congress – experts will also present the latest developments in medical electronics technology at the electronica Medical Electronics Conference (eMEC).

The established Embedded Platforms

Conference addresses hardware platforms and hardware components for embedded systems, software and tools for embedded development and optimisation, as well as standards and legal provisions for embedded systems. Billions of semiconductors and electronic components are integrated in embedded solutions and the overall

The electronica experience Not particularly relevant to the UK, but a great idea none the less. A new theme at the show aimed at students of all ages is the electronica experience held in Hall C6. The idea is to give tomorrow’s designers and engineers an insight into the world of electronics. This will take the form of live demonstrations, applications examples, presentations from exhibitors and what the organisers describe as a recruitment fair.

Register online and save Euros and time By pre-registering online for electronica 2018, visitors can save up to 20 per cent on ticket prices (a one-day ticket online is Euros 27.50) and avoid the entry queues on arrival at the Munich Trade Fair Centre. Admission tickets to electronica also entitle visitors to attend SEMICON Europa.

expenditure for the associated software is likely to increase further. What’s more, networking into the Internet of Things and ever-increasing complexity are making developers’ lives even more complicated. The Embedded Platforms Conference will benefit all those who supply components, tools, software and solutions. The electronica Automotive Conference is the platform where the international automotive industry's experts and decision-makers gather information and exchange ideas about significant technology trends and strategies that effect their industry. Participants include prominent representatives of leading system manufacturers and the automotive-supply industry – both at the management and engineering level, i.e. tier one, tier two, tier three, OEMs, component manufacturers and software developers. The Medical conference reflects the increasing worldwide demand for knowledge about medical equipment based around the use of electronics technology. The medical device market includes both components (sensor, battery, memory device, display, and microprocessor/MCU) and applications (imaging, medical therapeutics, diagnosis, monitoring, and fitness/wellness) and is on target to reach USD 56.5bn by 2020, according to research from Market and Markets.

The focal points of the electronica Wireless

Congress include technology trends such as the Internet of Things, Bluetooth standards and RF technologies. These will be supplemented by security aspects, market opportunities, and applications of current and future wireless technologies for industrial use. The electronica 2018 forum programme

provides visitors with the opportunity to gather the latest information on many hot topics including Industrial IoT, PCB and components, cyber security, connectors, medical electronics and eHealth and LED/solid state lighting.
