to imagine life today without our reliance on the plethora of social networks but very significant concerns remain about ownership of these platforms and the legitimacy of the legislation necessary to monitor and control them in order to minimise the risks of social harm. IDEA members’ predictions about the trends they believed would drive our industry in 2012 have proved to be largely right, and their concerns about off-shoring well founded.
Concluding thoughts
Whilst the supply issues in the electronic components supply network are beginning to be resolved, significant headwinds beyond our control still threaten to blow us off course. I urge purchasing organisations to exercise great care in the ongoing management of their forward order books and to continue to work closely with their trusted, long-term supply partners. Careful collaboration between customers, component manufacturers and their authorised distributors provides our best chance of achieving a ‘win-win’ result for all parties in the electronic components
