Altium releases powerful upgrade to leading PCB design software with Altium Designer 18

A

ltium is announcing the release of Altium Designer 18 – delivering critical system updates, targeted performance enhancements, and new and

improved features that significantly boost productivity and user control. This release features a number of important updates that work collectively to deliver one cohesive, end-to-end design environment. In addition to the modern user interface, this version also features an upgrade to a 64-bit architecture combined with multi-threaded task optimisations, enabling users to design and release large, complex boards at unprecedented speeds. Altium Designer 18 includes major updates to ActiveRoute, a user-guided routing engine that now

supports length tuning, pin-swapping, and gloss options, enabling users to quickly produce professional results. The ACTIVEBOM editor also features several enhancements including a new BoM rule checker that allows users to easily verify each BoM line item. Additionally, the new multi-board assembly capability enables real-time connection management, giving users the ability to design and release large, complex boards with ease. In summary, these are the new technologies and features: • Multi-board • 64-bit architecture • New graphics engine

• New theme-based UI (darker for less eye strain, more organised and easier to use)

• ActiveBOM enhancements (‘BOM rule checking’ is a new aspect of that feature. It guarantees the product can continue to be manufactured even if all the original parts are not available. It will even find alternatives that work just as well that can be “dropped in” so the product does not have to go back to the design stage) • ActiveRoute – includes rules driven, length driven, glossing, more options of controlling where the routes go, allows you to enforce more limitations, and it is faster. has been named Distributor of the Year, especially given the prestigious companies we found ourselves sharing the shortlist with. In 2017, we continued our mission of providing the very best and latest new product introductions from leading global manufacturers to design engineers, and expanded the services, tools and resources available on Mouser.com for the global design community.” A key reason behind Mouser's continued success in Europe has been the company's nine customer support locations, strategically placed across the region to provide personalized service to design engineers and buyers in local languages, currencies, and time zones. Mouser also won the Elektra Distributor of the Year Award in 2010. Burr-Lonnon continued: “We were fortunate enough to exceed our own

growth forecasts in the EMEA region over the four consecutive trimesters covered. We also maintained excellent partnerships with our existing franchise partners and added many new ones. This award demonstrates
