Cambridge finance offices benefit from new robust cable management
n 2019, the finance offices on the Cambridge University Press site began to plan a refurbishment to enhance its IT and meeting facilities. To assist with the cable management part of the works, Marshall-Tufflex supplied a range of products to serve this large, high-end office.

“We were working to quite a tight schedule for this one, with plans that the
entire office was going to be stripped bare, including all the flooring and walls. From then, we had a twelve-week schedule in place to install fuse boards, powertrack, power and data modules and trunking, in order to supply power and data to a large number of desktop computers.

Wieland’s new podis® power bus system – for the simple distribution of power
T
he new podis® power bus system from Wieland Electric helps to implement the
distribution of power quickly and easily. Ideal for use in airports for baggage conveyor systems, office buildings, shopping centres for the ruting of power, the podis® power bus system has found popularity more recently for the installation of vehicle charging stations for electric cars in public parking garages. The podis® decentralised energy distribution system allows a large number of charging stations to be connected with just one supply cable.
High currents have to be distributed safely without disturbing the existing installation. Often in existing
buildings the space required for this application has not been taken into account. And it needs to be easy to extend the installation to accommodate the foreseeable increasing demand for additional charging stations. As a result, a supposedly simple installation soon becomes a complex task.

Ellis adds another chapter to growing
its UK designed and manufactured cable cleats to a pulp and paper producer in Brazil.
Metso Brasil specified the North Yorkshire company’s
2F+ cable cleats to secure electrical cables in a multi- million Brazilian Real (R$) extension of Suzano Papel e Celulose’s factory in Imperatriz – a city with a population of over half a million in the state of Maranhão.
Kelly Brown, Ellis’ export sales manager, said: “The success
