PROACTIVE MOBILITY PLANNING A DYNAMIC FUTURE

Hudson Tunnel Projects, which will build two new rail tracks under the Hudson River and rehabilitate the existing North River Tunnel, resulting in four modern tracks between New York and New Jersey.

To further our transportation knowledge, and to inform the public conversation, NYMTC published numerous pieces of transportation research, including the Hub Bound Travel Report, the 2055 Socioeco- nomic and Demographic Forecasts, the Travel Patterns Report, and the Transpor- tation Conformity Determination, among others. Stay tuned for additional studies slated for publication in 2025. Our Com- munity Planning Workshop Program was further refined, leading to a productive transportation assessment for the village of Cold Spring. We look forward to more such partnerships in 2025. Through our Thriving Communities Network program,

we assisted non-governmental organi- zations supporting underrepresented communities with resources they can use to participate in regional and local trans- portation planning, including information on how to apply for funding that supports key community projects and transporta- tion improvements. Our meetings with representatives of the Shinnecock Nation helped strengthen our collaboration efforts while working with them to generate addi- tional federal funding for transportation.

Through these efforts, we’re working towards what we see as the future of transportation usage and how it can be developed better, safer, and more cli- mate-friendly for all.

With my warm regards,
