ASSOCIATION NEWS

WELCOME to the March edition of the Laser User

Welcome to the first edition of The Laser User for 2026. We are delighted to continue providing this publication, created to support, inform and connect the laser user community. Each edition will share new technical insights, highlight developments across the industry, and provide a platform for collaboration and discussion among users, researchers and suppliers.

As we begin the year, there are several important events we would like to draw your attention to. Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on 4 June and will give members the opportunity to receive an update on the work carried out over the past year, as well as to hear about plans for the year ahead. It will also be a valuable chance to engage with fellow members and help shape the future direction of the Association. I encourage all members to participate and make their voices heard.

The AGM also provides an opportunity for members to become more actively involved. We will be inviting expressions of interest from those who may wish to join the committee. Committee participation is a rewarding way to influence activities, expand professional networks, and support the wider laser community. We strongly encourage anyone with an interest to consider putting themselves forward.

Also taking place on 4 June, TWI will be hosting a workshop focused on Handheld Laser Applications. This event will provide practical insight into an increasingly important area of laser processing and offers an excellent opportunity to combine strategic discussion at the AGM with focused technical learning.

We hope this edition of the Laser User proves to be informative and engaging, and we look forward to your continued involvement throughout the year ahead.
