EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Jazzy is the kind of artist who defies convention and unapologetically owns her space in the electronic mu- sic scene. Her presence is magnetic—both on stage and off—and she radiates confidence, authenticity, and raw vulnerability. What sets her apart isn’t just her topless performances or her genre-defying music, but the way she fearlessly embraces her individuality and transforms personal struggles into powerful art.

She’s a bold performer, a meticulous producer, and a resilient human being who has turned her pain into em- powerment. Whether it’s breaking stereotypes about beauty standards or blending chaos and harmony in her tracks, Jazzy embodies the spirit of someone who isn’t afraid to be entirely, unapologetically herself. Her journey is both inspiring and deeply human, making her not just an artist to watch, but a voice that resonates with anyone seeking freedom in self-expression.

Jazzy’s story is not just about music; it’s about self-ex- pression and overcoming personal struggles to embra- ce the spotlight unapologetically. In this interview, she opens up about her signature look, creative process, and the moments that have shaped her career. With candid honesty, she reflects on the highs and lows of her journey, offering a glimpse into the mind of an ar- tist determined to leave her mark.

Style as a Statement: Embracing Vulnerability and Confidence

Jazzy’s decision to perform topless is one of her most striking trademarks. For her, this choice is more than aesthetic; it’s deeply personal and liberating.

“For me, it’s pure freedom. I don’t have to overthink or worry about sweating. The idea came naturally becau- se I was always shirtless in techno clubs before I even became a DJ. I just did my thing without realizing no other DJs were doing it, and that’s how it became my signature.”

On stage, this raw and uninhibited style allows Jazzy to connect with her audience uniquely. She sees it as an opportunity to reveal a deeper part of herself.

“It feels like I’m showing my vulnerability in that mo- ment. At the same time, it’s a statement of pride—pride in my body and in my confidence to feel comfortable in it, even without meeting conventional beauty stan- dards. I’m very proud of my shape and the way I treat my body. That six-pack doesn’t come from nothing.”

Her boldness has sparked memorable reactions, but none more so than a recent performance in Italy for MRC.

“I was performing inside a cage, and surrounding it were only women with taped nipples. It was the most incredible non-verbal compliment I’ve ever received for my performance. I couldn’t even see the crowd anymo- re, just women with tapes. Ti amo.”

THE CREATIVE PROCESS

Jazzy’s creative process is a fascinating blend of spon- taneity, meticulousness, and adaptability, reflecting her deeply personal connection to music. What makes her approach so unique is how it extends beyond the boundaries of the studio; for Jazzy, creativity isn’t confined to a set time or space—it’s a perpetual flow. Her ability to draw inspiration from everyday life, from the hum of a street to the chirp of birds, speaks to her sharp awareness and innovative spirit. As she puts it:

“The funny thing is, my creative process is always run- ning; it never really stops. I’m constantly listening to things around me, like natural sounds on the street, without headphones, to see what I can sample. Most of the work is already done before I even step into the studio because I usually bring an idea I found outside of it.”

This fluid, open-ended approach is mirrored in her mu- sic, which refuses to be boxed into one genre or mood. Jazzy is a sonic chameleon, weaving influences from Tame Impala’s dreamy soundscapes to Kanye West’s bold experimentation into a tapestry that’s uniquely her own. She thrives on chaos and unpredictability, blending elements that others might shy away from. For Jazzy, it’s all about exploration.

“Music is art. The reason my music feels so diverse is that I believe every genre has something beautiful to offer if you listen closely. My tracks often reflect chaos because I love blending different things, experimenting, and trying out new ideas. I’m not just a techno pro- ducer. I draw inspiration from styles like Tame Impala, Kanye West, 070 Shake, A$AP Rocky, and many others. This mix of influences reflects my emotions and expe- riences, embracing unpredictability, which I think sets me apart.”

Certain elements remain a constant in her work, thou- gh, like her deep connection to the Moog synthesizer and natural sounds. These aren’t just tools for her— they’re extensions of her identity as an artist.

“I’m particularly drawn to songs that include Moog syn- thesizers—they always help me reconnect with myself with their rich sound. This will also be the brand where I’m buying my next synthesizer. I also love working with bird sounds and natural sounds in general. Creating with organic, analog noises or transforming bird noises into music is something I find deeply inspiring.”

Even when faced with creative blocks, Jazzy’s deter- mination never wavers. She sees these moments not as barriers but as opportunities to learn and grow. Her ability to switch between genres or dive into educa- tional resources like tutorials ensures that her process remains dynamic and forward-moving.

“If I don’t feel inspired in one genre, I simply switch to another. When I hit a tough block and don’t know what to do, I watch videos to learn new things—producing tips, tutorials, or even learning stuff on ChatGPT. My process never really stops: when the creative flow isn’t working, it turns into a learning phase. The grind never stops.”

Jazzy’s journey from a novice producer to a bold and confident performer is a story of remarkable resilience, growth, and creativity. What makes her narrative so compelling is the humility and honesty with which she shares it. Her first breakthrough, the unlikely success of her track “Discobenzin,” is a perfect example of how raw talent and experimentation can triumph over te- chnical limitations.

“This is one of my favorite stories because I never thou- ght anyone would even hear this track. I didn’t know how to produce properly. I could only use the piano roll in FL Studio. I didn’t know how to assign instruments to mixer channels, so I made the entire track ‘Discoben- zin’ on one pattern in the piano roll. I adjusted veloci- ties, added filters, and did everything through the piano roll—no mixing, nothing. A few months later, I checked and saw it had half a million streams on YouTube. That was crazy.”
