Teen cancer survivor raises £3.8k for charity

Brave teenage cancersurvi- vor Francesca Wheatley held a fund raising ball to honour the memory of herthree best friends who all died from the illness.
Through CLIC Sargent, the 18-year-old, from Whalley, met Hayley, Ryan and Kim. Ryan and Kim died of can
cer in 2012 and Hayley in 2013. Francesca organised the ball, which was held at the Mytton Fold Golf Complex, Langho, and raised more than £3,800 for CLIC Sargent, the chil dren and young people’s can cer charity, in honour of her three “guardian angels”. Francesca’s family was also
supported by the chari ty after she was diagnosed with Hodg kin’s lymphoma in 2010. Francesca said: “The pain

A Clitheroe family is ap pealing for information leading to the whereabouts of its beloved missing cat, Betty. Local people are being urgedtokeep an eye out for Betty, who disappeared on Saturday night from. the Low Moor' area of the town. Owner Beth Fielding said the family was very upset. “Betty is brown and fluffy and was wearing a pink collar and tag,” she said.
