Actor Peter Gunn was the ce lebrity guest at a gourmet breakfast hosted by Dugdale Nutrition’sRogerDugdaleatthe newly refurbished Northcote Manor to celebrate the work of Child Action Northwest. . The event celebrated a

projectby Child Action North west, Wilpshire, that has been providing free therapeutic counselling to children, teen agers and adults of all ages in

. the Ribble Valley, where there has been an emotional trauma or families are in crisis. The Jigsaw project started

in 2012 with a generous seed funding donation by Roger Dugdale,' of Dugdale Nutri tion,Clitheroe.Aconfidential counselling room was set up in Clitheroe and the service was flooded with referrals from school teachers and GPs. Within two years the Jig

saw project has helped more than loo people with issues including loss and bereave-

ment, domestic abuse, anger management issues and ad-, dictions. However, because of the comparative wealth of the borough, the service does not attract ongoing funding from commissioning authorities.

. Roger has been joined by volunteers Harriet Roberts, o f Clitheroe, and Margaret Evans, of Wilpshire, both ex- ■ perienced fund-raisers and event managers to launch

. Raised in Ribble Valley. They aim to attract donations by creating a calendar of high, profile social events, develop sponsors and raise awareness through corporate partner ships and other publicity. • Rogerexplained:“Theaim of Raised in Ribble Valley is for people to support the families on our own doorstep dealing with issues that could affect any one of us. Raised in Ribble Valley means it stays in Rib ble Valley and donations and money raised will go directly to Child Action Northwest’s Jigsaw project here.” : . * For more details visit:
