A VALLEY village has an outstanding childcare provider. Earlier this year education

assessors described the Chip ping Children’s Community Alliance as a top-of-the-class childcare provider. Launched three years ago,

the CCCA is a registered charity which provides pre school sessions, full day care for yoimgsters aged over two, as well as breakfast and after school clubs for pupils at the villages schools — and a baby and toddler group. Managed by a voluntary

committee of parents and community members, the CCCA employs nine members of staff and has 85 children on its register. In February 2007 it moved into a new purpose- built facUity at the rear of Brabin’s Endowed school. One of the CCCA's aims to

support the sustainability of Chipping ^ o o ls by providing

extended services and ensur ing local families have access to childcare within the village. When Ofsted inspectors vis

ited the venue in May they commented that "staff put children first in all they do and this shines through in their practice and their envi ronment” and praised the CCCA for its effective man agement. A grant from Lancashire

County Council enabled the CCCA to develop one of its outdoor areas to create a play area using all natural materi als which fits in with its rural surroundings. • For more information
