THE countdown to Christmas has been a busy • time for residents of the Manor House in Chat- burn. • Pupils from Chatburn
Primary School visited and entertained with Christmas carols, accom panied by Mrs Eileen Dickinson on the key board. • Younger visitors from
Chatburn Playgroup also visited and entertained residents by singing songs.
They were rewarded for their efforts by a visit from Father Christmas. • A variety of tap, mod
ern and jazz dances were performed by pupils from Mary Waddington’s School of Dance who donned fantastic costumes for the event. The evening ended with communal carol singing. Pictured top right are

Georgina, pictured left,

event was well supported with various stalls raising £300 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The cheque will be presented to the charily early in the new year.(s) A Members and support
ers of Gisburn Play School held their Christmas party in the village hall. The event included a bouncy castle, games, tea and an eagerly anticipated visit from Moth er Christmas, who distrib uted gifts to the toddlers.

ALL 45 children in the infant department of Gisburn Primary School had a part in the Christmas production called “The Nativity”, which used narrators and actors to tell the story of the birth of Jesus. The children, wearing specially created

classes performed their annual Christmas concert which included saxophone and clarinet solos, a tap dancing duo, percus sion and recorder recitals and several fes tive songs sung by the whole of the junior department and also a couple of songs by the choir. Each of the two junior classes performed
