Trailing 4-0 at half-time and missing key players,
a good talking to at half-time did improve things after the break. Langho were able to pull back to within two goals
as Joel Phelps netted a hat-trick to take the refer ee's man-of-the-match award. I t was a stirring second half, but the damage had

READSTONE United Under 11s remain top of the table after a convincing 3-0 win against Haslingden Juniors. Readstone dominated the match and should
have won by a bigger margin. Goals were scored by Ben Bridson, Ryan Brere-
ton and man-of-the-match Andy Hedgar. The Under 10s weren’t as fortunate as they suc
cumbed to a Pendle Forest side who eventually walked away 4-1 winners. Despite this, all the players deserve praise for
their efforts. Lewis Fisk put in a man-of-the-match performance, with Kyle Collinson scoring the goal. The Under 9s suffered a similar fate, despite a
very entertaining game against Barrowford Celtic White. They lost 7-3, despite a goal by Lewis Simp son and a brace from Josh Bailey.

the competition was split into morning and afternoon events. Ray Bradley took
first place in the morn ing with 33 points edg ing out George Blenk- inship by two points. For the second year
running, Roger Altham took the after noon prize with 32 points f rom ' Nick Williamson (30 points) who took second place after a card play-off with Rob Andrew. Club captain John
Slinger provided gen erous Marks and Spencer vouchers to all the winners - a gesture much appreciated at this time of year.

Burrill, Pym also bat tled hard in the mixed doubles, eventually coming out with five wins out of six. Facing Stanhill in
