TOSSIDE newlyweds Katie Turner andAaron Dugdale honeymooned at
' Italy’s Lake Garda. The couple were married at St Bartholomew’s
Church in their home village, by the Rev. Mark Russell-Smith. The bride, who is head of marketing at Perry’s
Mazda in Blackburn and a keen horse rider, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Alec and Barbara Turner, of The Crescent, Clitheroe. Her bridegroom, a welder at Ouzledale
Foundry, Barnoldswick, and a keen mountain biker, is the son of Mrs Norma Dugdale, of Tos- side, and the late Mr Peter Dugdale. Given away by her father, the bride wore a
strapless light gold satin gown with a laced corset bodice. It was embellished with embroidery, crystals and bugle beads. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of cream roses with calla lilies and ferns. Bridal attendants were Sarah Wright and the
bride’s niece, Grace Clark. Sarah wore a mush room-coloured strapless full-length dress of taffetta and carried a hand-tied posy of cream roses. Grace wore a white dress with embroidery flower detail and a ribbon and carried a wand of feathers and gold ribbons. Best man was the bridegroom’s brother Luke
Dugdale. Groomsmen were Richard Lambert, Alan Towler and Nathan Wigglesworth and the bride’s nephew, Ethan Clark, was the page. A reception was held at the Moorcock Inn,

MILLER-MITCHELL ALL Hallows’ Church in Mitton was the setting for the wedding of Miss Charlotte Miriam Miller and Mr Graham Mitchell. Following the ceremony, the bride and bride
groom were transported to their reception at the Eaves Hall Country Hotel in a carriage drawn by two black horses complete with white plumes. The bride, an office manager at her father’s
garage, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Alan Miller, of Bashall Eaves. Her bridegroom, a motor technician, is the son
of Mr and Mrs Jeff Brayton, of Whalley. Given away by her father, the bride wore an
ivory taffeta gown, with scrunched skirt and cas cading train trimmed with handmade roses. The bodice was embellished with beads and dia mante. She carried a bouquet of orange cymbid- ium orchids, red berries and beaded steel grass trails. Attending her, wearing sea green pure silk fish
tail dresses with cascading roses on one shoulder, were Mrs Rachael Jackson, the bride’s sister, Miss Faye Rhodes, the bride’s cousin, and Mrs Clarinda Redmond. They carried orchid and rosebud posies. Best man was Mr Paul Mitchell, the bride
groom’s brother, and the ushers were Mr Paul Walker and Mr John Pennington. The newlyweds enjoyed a beach and safari

HORTON - LEEMING THE marriage of Clitheroe couple Miss Rachel Leeming and Mr Simon Horton ^ took place in St Pauls Church in the
town. The bride, an office manager, is the daughter of
Mr and Mrs David and Julie Leeming, of Bleas- dale Avenue, Clitheroe. The bridegroom, a sales executive and also a
member of the British Rallycross Drivers’ Asso ciation and Clitheroe Motor Club, is the son of Mr Pete Horton, of Beverly Close, and the late Mrs Jean Horton. The bride, given away by her father, wore a
full-length strapless gown of satin and tulle, embellished with crystals and pearls with a full train. She carried a bouquet, which was a selec tion of cream and purple flowers including roses, freesia and lisianthus. She was attended by her sister, Miss Caroline Leeming, who wore a short- length, strapless, deep purple dress. Best man was the bridegroom’s father and the
groomsmen were two friends of the bridegroom, Mr Craig Youngs and Mr Steve Rattue. Following the ceremony, conducted by the Rev.

Robinson and Miss Jennifer Taylor. The bride, a teacher at St Mary’s RC Primary
School in Sabden, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs William and Vivian Taylor, of Corbridge Court, Clitheroe. Her bridegroom, a CNC machinist, is the son
of Mrs Moira Robinson, of West Bradford, and the late Mr A. Robinson. The bride, given away by her father, wore an
ivory antique lace gown with diamante detail and a head dress of cream and green wild flow ers. She had a bouquet of cream roses and wild flowers with ivy. Attending her, and wearing a vintage style,
duck egg blue, ballerina-length dress with cream antique lace overlay and carrying a bouquet of cream roses and greenery, was Jane Taylor, the bride’s twin sister. Dame of honour was the bride's elder sister,
Susan Parkes, who wore a dress to match the bridesmaid's. Best man was Pete Tattersall, the bride
groom’s best friend, and groomsmen were Jonathan and Thomas Hosty, the bride’s nephews. The ceremony was conducted by Fr P. Birm
ingham and featured two readers, William Tay lor and Jonathan Hosty, as well as soloist, Yvonne Hartlebury, who sang in church. Following a reception at the Stirk House

book signed by children’s author Kaye Umansky. Proud mother, Niki Parker said: “He is a wonder ful child and loves reading books and writing. I’m delighted that he won.
“I’m also very pleased that we
have a superb library with access to up-to-date books and equip ment and the staff are very helpful too.”
Students speak with distinction
VALLEY youngsters have achieved suc cess in spoken English exams. Twenty-five pupils of the Jean Willis

She was attended by Heather Marsh, who wore
a dusky pink taffeta dress and carried a bouquet similar to the bride’s. Best woman was Claire Pocklington, the bridegroom’s sister. The couple honeymooned along the Mediter
