Valley netball club enjoy great year


IT’S been a successful year for Ribble Valley Netball Club as they grabbed seven pieces of silverware across their numerous age groups. Five league title wins and


two tournament victories were yielded over the course of the season. And what better way to


set the ball rolling, as the senior side - RV Mischicks - won the Clitheroe Summer League? The Under 10s won their


division in Manchester with ease, while both the Under 12/13s sides won their leagues at Leyland. And it was title success


also for the Under 15/16s over in Burnley. Squads representing the


club from Under 9s upwards have travelled far and wide


to tournaments throughout the year. The highlight was


undoubtedly the Mischicks playing in the National Challenge Cup. That failed to yield suc­


cess, but the Under 12s pro­ vided that at the Notting­ ham tournament, as did the Under 14s at the North West equivalent, thus qualifying for the NW Super League. And all received their hon­


ours a t the end of season presentation night a t Waddington Social Club. In each age group, awards


were given for good atten­ dance, consistent effort and good squad member, as well as most improved and rising star. The final prizes were handed out to best goal


shooter, best centre court player and best defender across the three age groups. The club has been spon­


sored for bibs by JTL and TU Sports, for kit from Michael Connolly and James Alpes towards awards. The club is holding sever­
