RIBBLE VALLEY (PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION) ORDER 2006


On the 27th July 2005, the Lancashire County Council con­ firmed the above Order.


The effect of the Order, as confirmed, is to divert part of Bridleway No. 12. in the Parish of Bowland-with-Leagram, in the Borough of Ribble Valley.


a) That part of Bridleway No. 12 in the Parish of Bowland- with-Leagram in the Borough of Ribble Valley from a point approximately 20 metres to the south of its junction with Public Footpath No.16 Bowland-with-Leagram (GR SD 6448 4574). running in a general southerly direction for a distance of approximately 30 metres to GR SD 6449 4571. and;


b) a route be created from a point on Bridleway No 12 in the Parish of Bowland-with-Leagram in the Borough of Ribble Valley from a point approximately 20 metres to the south of its junction with Public Footpath No. 16 Bowland-with- Leagram, ( GR SD 6448 4574) running in a generally south easterly direction for a distance of approximately 26 metres, and then in a south westerly direction for a distance of approximately 20 metres to GR SD 6449 4571,


as shown on the Order plan.


A copy of the Order, as confirmed, and plan, have been deposited at the offices of the Ribble Valley Borough Council, Council Offices. Church Walk, Clitheroe BB7 2RA, and at my offices, where they may be inspected, free of charge, during office hours. Copies of the Order and plan may be purchased from my offices.


Any person who wishes to claim compensation under Section 28 (as applied by Section 121(2)) of the 1980 Act for depreci­ ation or damage for disturbance arising as a result of the com­ ing into force of the Order must make a claim in writing addressed to Ian Fisher. County Secretary & Solicitor, Lancashire County Council. This creation of the route described at b) above comes into force on the

the extinguishment of the route described at a) above will be when the created route is certified as fit for use, but if a per­ son aggrieved fay the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amend­ ed, or on the ground that a requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by Paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from the 27 July 2006

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle, pedestrian, or cycle from proceeding over that length of C593 Main Street. Bolton-By-Bowland. approximately 25 metres either side of the centre line of Skirden Bridge, in the District of Ribble Valley.


An alternative route for vehicular traffic and cyclists affected by the closure is via: -


C593 Main Street - C 59 0 Bolton-By-Bowland Road - C590 Sawley Road - A 5 9 Gisburn Road to Gisburn Cattle Market - C593 Mill Lane - C593 Gisburn Road - C593 Main Street - and vice versa.


Access to properties will be available at all times. The Police, Fire and Ambulance Services have been informed.


The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow essential structural maintenance on Skirden Bridge to be carried out.


The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday July 24ih 2005 until 1700 hours on Sunday 27th August 2006.
