Remembrance November 12th is Remembrance Sun day and all villagers and the relatives of those named on the village war memorial are invited to attend a special, short open air service round the memorial which is in the grounds of Knowle Green Con gregational Church. A FIVE-STRONG contingent of well-bred 15-month-old Jersey heifers from part-time farmer Mark Thornber, of Barkerfield, Worston, Clitheroe, sold successfully to four different purchasers at the October Craven Dairy Auction at Skipton Auction Mart. Two made £570 and a third was knocked
down for £546. Mr Thornber, who works for the family weaving firm of James Thornber in Clitheroe, bought the Jerseys as month-old calves. “There’s a lot more interest in Jersey milk again these days,” he said.

Lantern festival A lantern festival has been arranged by Acorn Steiner Kindergarten in Whalley Abbey, on Friday, November 10th from 4-30 to 6 p.m. This is an event for families with young children.
