JULY Darts event


THE fifth annual darts open competition will be held on Sunday, July 3rd at Whittingham and Goosnargh Sports . and Social Club, Guild Park, Whittingham, Prieston. This is a mixed singles knockout competition open to


both male and female darters, following 501 British Darts Organisation rules, and each year has attracted large numbers of players from all over the north of England. The prize money on offer is £800, -with the winning


men’s prize standing at £300, with £100 for the runner- up, and the ladies’ first prize of £100, vsdth £50 for the run­


ner-up. In addition to the main competition, there will be a


blind doubles contest, and for the first time at the Whit­ tingham and Goosnargh Open, a junior competition open to yoimg dart players up to the age of 16. Entry fees are £4 for adult postal entries, £6 on the day


and £3 for juniors. For every fi-ve entries in advance on one entry form, one is free! The club is in a semi-rural setting just off the main
