lated in the darkroom by hours of painstaking work were shown, now repro duced in 15 minutes work on the computer. Was the recent work any less valid because it had taken less time to produce when the results were similar? It was interesting to hear

dent, and the sell-out event raised £1,200 for the Rotary movement’s Life Education campaign. It helps warn children of the dan
gers of substance abuse, using profes sional methods and specially- designed trailers. A raffle helped swell the evening's
proceeds and a hot sapper was enjoyed.
Members of the Backbcuts have
been playing together for nearly a decade, covering much of the North. Several have strong local connections and the Rotary event was a charity gig for them. Mr Lancaster is pictured at the back
