Speaking from Clitheroe Community Hos
p ital, where she was recovering from her injuries, earlier this week, Mrs Isherwood said: "I went and listened at the bottom of the stairs. I went up quietly and opened the bed room door and he was standing looking a t a
little box. "He turned round and saw me and rushed to
the door. I tr ied to stop him and he ju s t pushed me with both hands deliberately. I went head-over-heels. That is the last thing I
remember." Mrs Isherwood, who previously underwent
a hip replacement operation, was left unable to walk for several days and suffered severe bruising to her face, arms, legs and shoulders. The first of the two men, who claimed to be
a workman, was white! around 5ft. 4in., thick set with broad shoulders, a ruddy complexion and a grey beard. He was described as being scruffy and was wearing a black woollen hat, navy jeans and a mid-blue anorak with a

clean-shaven with a baby face. He had very blond, short hair, which was natural and not

ited by producers, who decided that out of a possi ble short-list of 50 couples from throughout Britain, the match of th e Ribble Valley duo would make the best television. Said Grace, who will be
a tten d ed by four brides maids, a flower girl and page boy: "We are really excited to have been chosen. We will have the film crew with us for ab o u t a fort night until the day itself. Over the coming months, we will also be helped in our research and preparations. Having television cameras there won’t make us any more nervous, bu t rather add to the magic of it all." StSSill Pupils hit right note
THIS happy "Mr Tambourine Man" pose high lights a £620 musical achievement by pupils at St Michael and St John’s RC Primary School,
Clitheroe. That was the amount they raised for the Meningitis
Trust with various shows over the Christmas period. Luke Barton is holding the tambourine and the young
sters with the cheque are Charlotte and Paul Wood- worth, Kate Ward, Tonia Fish and Christopher Shillitoe.
(120299/11/34) Carousel horse to the rescue)
THE power of the local press was "reined" in when Clitheroe Parish Church Amateur Operatic and Dra matic Society found itself short of a rather important cast member - a fairground carousel horse. After an appeal to fill the vacant part was made in
the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times, a splendid horse fit ting the ticket arrived from Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Now the equine beauty is gracing the stage, starring in a cameo role right up to the production's finishing
line. O Sec review of the show on page 18.
