Christmas fair St Mary’s RC Church
Show” was staged by mem-' bers of Rimington WI at their treasured collectables evening. Mr T. Brindle appraised and evaluated a wide variety of favourite items, taken along by WI members and friends, and he also had on display sever al interesting pieces, speak ing knowledgeably bf their history and value. Members also displayed
their individual collections, ranging from butterflies to model cars. A delicious tapas supper

Bowling along A warm and friendly
atmosphere prevailed at Rimington Bowling Club’s festive dinner, held at the Buck Inn, Grindleton, where a delicious four-course meal was enjoyed. Members are currently playing in their singles and doubles tournaments in Rimington Memorial Institute.

Charity star night Audiences on the last two
Friday evenings have been thoroughly entertained at Ribchester Sports and Social Club, which hosted the charity star nights. Organiser Mr Dave Free man said that the amount of local talent was amazing, with 17 acts ranging from comedy to solo singers and instrumentalists. At £4, the tickets were a bargain, and so great was the demand it was rumoured that a black market was in operation. Half the proceeds of £1,640 has been donated to Chil dren In Need, with Ribch ester Playing Field Trust and Ribchester Rovers Football Club sharing the remainder.
