STEPPING back in time to the swinging '60s helped building society staff in Clitheroe raise money for Children In
Need. ' Staff at Skipton BS, in
Market Place, donned their bobby socks and rock W roll skirts in aid of the good
cause. Branch manger Lisa Cow-
burn, along with customer advisers Julie Hartley, Isabel Davies and Karen Ingham, donned fancy dress and asked customers calling into the branch to take part in a fund raising competition to guess the name of a dog and to make donations in aid of the annua] fund-raiser. A sale of Pudsey eye patch
es, bookmarks and biscuits at St James's C E School, in Clitheroe, also raised money for Children In Need. All the goodies had been
made by children who attend the school's Scripture Union Club, and at play time on Fri day all pupils and staff were able to buy the packages for a 50p donation to the organisa tion. The final total raised by the school was £250. Headteacher M r Paul
Adnitt said: "All the children and staff took part and it was an example of children help
ing children." Our first photograph
shows the quartet from the Skipton (above, right), who
are, from the left, Karon Ing ham, Isabel Davies, Julie Hartley and Lisa Cowburn. (281199/10/24) The second photograph
shows pupils from St James's (right) proudly donning their Pudsey eye patches, watched by headteacher Mr Paul Adnitt and Mrs Christine Taylor, one of the five teach ers who organises the school's Scripture Union club. (281199/11/17)_______
