BOOK-KEEPING AND
ACCOUNTS — RSA 2 STAGE I I (RIBBLESDALE MONDAY 7 .1 5 p.m.)
Candidates will normally have completed a Stage I book-keeping course.
Presentation ol financial statements and accounts ol partnerships and limited companies. Analysis and interpretation ol business results including use of ratios. Practical exercises.
Employment in accountancy. Appreciation of business/managernent results. Ladder to career in accounting. Provision of sound base for entry into higher level combined courses in accountancy/bust-
ness studies. SHORTHAND BEGINNERS:
TEELINE (RIBBLESDALE WEDNESDAY 7 .1 5 p.m.)
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Good standard of English.
Teeline is a modern system of shorthand based on the letters ol the alphabet The theory is covered in 23 units, approx, one unit being presented each week. Dictation is practised throughout the course
and students can expect to achieve 50-70 wpm. SHORTHAND SPEED ,

COURSE CONTENT How to use a computer keyboard and use a Word Processing package on an Amstrad workstation.
PROGRESSION RSA Core Text Processing, RSA 1, 2 and 3 Word Processing.
EacfTstudent will need to purchase a disc at approx £2 which is available from the Centre.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
COURSE CONTENT Using Amstrad Machines.
Stage 1 — Basic Keyboarding skills or RSA Core Text Processing. Stage 2 — Stage 1 Word Processing.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Previous study ol shorthand to a minimum ol 50 w.p.m. in either Teeline, Pitman 2000 or Pitman New Era.
To increase the speed ol writing shorthand by taking dictation at varvinq speeds. This is reinforced with a more detailed study of the art of phrasing and revision of certain aspects of theory.
COURSE CONTENT Pilman/RSA examinations are held. WORD PROCESSING AND
TYPING MIXED ABILITY (WHALLEY MONDAY 1 p.m. AND WHALLEY TUESDAY 7-15 p.m.)
A^course designed to teach keyboarding skills, word processing
and/or typing. Anyone wishing to join the course purely lor ^easure is wet- come but the course can lead to examinations in RSA and Pitman.
