PLODDERS’ CHARITY TREK CASH BOOST FOR ALZHEIMER’S SOCIETY
Four members of staff at law firm Lodders, have completed a gruelling 23km walk across the Brecon Beacons in South Wales to raise over £2,600 for Alzheimer’s Society.

Ranked as being a ‘very tough’ level trek by the charity, the challenging route saw the team ‘Lodders Plodders’ – made up of the firm’s Sharon Crosby, Gemma Bryan, Michael Brook and Sofia Tayton – scale demanding terrain, steep steps, uneven ground, hair-raising ledges and conquer the 886 metre high Pen y Fan – the highest peak in South Wales – in six hours.
On completing the challenge, the team has fundraised £1,613, boosted by the Lodders Charitable Foundation that has generously added £1,000 to the fundraising pot, bringing their final total to £2,613. Walker Sofia Tayton said: “Completing the challenge was certainly no mean feat. As well as the physical tests that the route presented, we also had to contend with the weather being surprisingly warm. But there was great camaraderie with others on the trek and a really supportive atmosphere all round - plus the views were spectacular.”

TEEING OFF FOR VARIETY CASH BOOST FOR DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN
Keepmoat Homes West Midlands recently held its very first Charity Golf Day for Variety, the Children’s Charity raising over £6,000.
The hugely successful event took place at the beautiful Warwickshire Golf Club with 19 teams registering to take part. The funds raised will go towards helping less fortunate children who, through no fault of their own, are unable to enjoy a quality of life which the rest of us take for granted.
The fiercely fought competition included sponsored prizes for the two longest drives and the two nearest pins. In addition to the team fees, there was also a raffle and an auction afterwards to raise additional funds.
Charlotte Walker, regional development director, said, “Thank you to everyone who supported the day and congratulations to all of the winners. Variety is entirely reliant upon the generosity of organisations such as Keepmoat Homes and its supply chain to enable us to carry on helping the most disadvantaged children in the Midlands. Their support is invaluable.”

The event has so far raised £6,270 but there is a Gofundme page for anyone who would still like to make a donation at
