NEW BOS S E S AT THE COT TAGE TAV E RN CULINARY ASPIRATIONS AT VILLAGE PUB New life has been breathed into a South Warwickshire pub.

The Cottage Tavern in Ashorne, near Warwick has undergone an exciting transformation with new managers at the helm. Tim Sidwell and Mark Williams spent several weeks decorating, adding new furnishings, transforming the cellar and re-designing the garden before re-opening.

The menu has also undergone a radical change and offers a daily changing blackboard menu using locally sourced produce, a 3-course Sunday lunch and a regular Thursday steak night.

The chef, Ryan Davies, was trained at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Academy, and was awarded ‘apprentice of the year’. He has also worked under a Michelin starred chef at Bistro Bruno Loubet.

Mark said: “We are delighted to have brought our experience and passion to The Cottage Tavern and revitalised a tired village pub. We look forward to welcoming visitors and putting The Cottage Tavern firmly on the culinary map as a destination pub in Warwickshire.”

There is a new way to support Love Brum - with your feet up and a G&T in your hand.

Love Brum has teamed up with 1000 Trades Distillery to create Love Brum Gin, a premium gin distilled and hand bottled right here in the Midlands. And what's better, with every purchase the charity will receive a donation.

Lovingly distilled with juniper, coriander seeds, orris root and grapefruit with some secret botanicals, it’s a zesty and spicy gin reflecting the diverse character and culture of Birmingham.

The Love Brum Gin is officially on sale now on Love Brum's website and all proceeds will go to Love Brum’s fundraising GINitiatives.

Iconic Birmingham pub The Rainbow in Digbeth reopened last month.

The original Rainbow pub dates back to 1767 and over the last 250 years there have been many incarnations. It's been bought and sold, loved and left abandoned.

Finally The Rainbow has been lovingly restored, and it's ready to take its rightful place once more at the heart of Digbeth nightlife.

New owners Nick Rendall and Trevean Anderson said: “The Rainbow has been a much-loved pub and holds a real sentimental value to Birmingham. It is only right that the re-opening of this pub continues the legacy and strives to have a broader appeal in order to attract new people. Expect live music, live sports, cocktails and good food.”

The drinks menu is a real treat with a selection of 30 cocktails that will include classics, twists and new creations special to The Rainbow.

Another exciting edition to the Rainbow is that BA-HA will be running the street food menu, hearty Sunday roasts, brunches, late night bar food and more.
