THE JOURNAL
► A collaboration between S. Harris and the Black Artists and Designers Guild (BADG), Orejen is a collection of fabrics, wallcoverings and trimmings centred around three culturally rich parts of the world, available from TURNELL & GIGON. Pictured are curtains in ‘Pemba Coast’, inspired by the East African island’s turquoise seas.
▲ Exploiting the subtle qualities of fine bone china as a material for lighting, ORIGINAL BTC’s ‘Pebble’ light is available as a pendant or flush ceiling model. Each ceramic shape is attached to a brass finial, creating layers of ambient, glowing light.
▲ New to Design Centre East, ECCOTRADING DESIGN LONDON is known for its skill with cast metals; these ‘O’ and ‘Y’ cocktail tables, named after the shape of their bases, are made from bronze using the ancient lost-wax casting method to preserve every detail.
▼ A-list US designer Lori Weitzner has turned her attention to the planet’s smallest creatures for her latest trimmings collection for SAMUEL & SONS. This ‘Ensemble’ border features a parade of intricately beaded and embroidered beetles.
▲ Made from hand-blown glass, MCKINNEY & CO’s ‘Sea Fan’ finials have the organic look of a piece of coral. They are available in an array of tempting colours as well as silver and gold, and in two sizes, with bespoke sizing also available.
▲ Bring a stylised version of nature inside with De Castelli’s ‘Vertical Green’ panelling from TOLLGARD, a three-dimensional wall made from shimmering metal leaves in shades of copper, verdigris and brass.
