THE JOURNAL
WELCOME
Creativity can be hard to define. Even the most gifted or experienced designers can have trouble pinpointing exactly when inspiration will strike or where their next great idea will come from. In this issue of The Journal, we celebrate creative confidence – the brave and the bold who have jumped into the deep end to achieve extraordinary results. With 120 showrooms and 600 international brands, Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour is dedicated to championing its unique community and showcasing world-class talent. After all, it’s not just about looking good in design, it’s also a story of craftsmanship, dedication to the finer details and a deep respect for artistry and innovation. Everywhere you turn here there’s the promise of design discovery – a tribute to curiosity, resilience, ambition, originality and optimism. The wealth of insider knowledge is remarkable, too, and nothing beats seeing palettes
and patterns in person, or materials and finishes up close in the showrooms. In addition to what the Design Centre represents for so many of us, it is universally recognised as being a critical catalyst for interiors, and a vital international hub for creativity and commerce. Reflecting a desire for shared experiences, this year will see a continuous roster of exhibitions in the Design Avenue, and more curated events that will enhance the annual programme. That’s the power of design – and it’s exactly where the world’s premier design destination that looks to the future should be.
