Guests connect with five-star Wi-Fi service

CommScope RUCKUS is a global leader in hospitality. RUCKUS Wi-Fi is recognised for its speed, coverage and reliability, and its end-to-end networks deliver the high performance that discerning business and leisure travellers expect. RUCKUS also provides the agility and ease of deployment to support the fast-changing requirements of visionary hospitality organisations.

RUCKUS to bring world-class connectivity across the vast holdings of Barrière Group. Barrière has a range of unparalleled offerings in the high-end hospitality leisure industry. Its properties include 33 casinos, a gambling club, 18 hotels (most of which are five-star), 15 spas, two tennis clubs and three golf courses. The company also has more than 140 restaurants and bars, including the renowned Fouquet’s in Paris and nine other destinations.

RUCKUS technology is enhancing the guest experience and making hotels safer for both visitors and staff.

Trusted and knowledgeable Barrière has remained at the forefront of the modern hospitality industry through three generations of entrepreneurial owners. Today, that means demonstrating vision and leadership in digital transformation. “Customers value our service, décor and cuisine with our distinctive French flair. Equally, they expect the most advanced technology-based

conveniences,” says Emmanuelle Anglade, executive vice president of marketing, sales and technology at Barrière Group. “Wifirst, a trusted partner, selected CommScope as the backbone of its flawless connected experience.” “RUCKUS is one of the only manufacturers that offers the performance, scalability, reliability and low total cost of ownership that we needed for this large-scale project,” says Etienne Detrie, marketing director at Wifirst.

Reliable signal, no matter what Barrière creates a beautiful escape where tradition and sophistication are as magnificent today as they were 100 years ago. But historic hotels, while they are a pleasure to stay in, can have inconsistent Wi-Fi signal. RUCKUS access points use patented antenna and channel technologies to choose the best performing paths and channels, and even adapt to changes in environment or the device used by guests. RUCKUS Wi-Fi easily covers high- density environments that can present problems for many wireless vendors – such as conference and seminar rooms, lobbies, restaurants and bars. The network will also support Barrière’s 7,000 meticulously trained staff with mobile applications for housekeeping, catering, maintenance and other departments. “While coverage has expanded and usage has increased, thanks to the efficiency of RUCKUS technology there has been no increase in energy consumption, maintenance or internet costs,” says Detrie. “In addition, booking scores have gone up at properties on the new network.”

Enhanced guest experience Many guest services are being introduced or enhanced. Guests have the option to check in via their mobile device, download their keys to their smartphones and go straight to their rooms. They can also extend their stays, check out or change rooms without going to the front desk. Connected door locks complete the online registration experience. During the Covid-19 pandemic, all of these contactless conveniences have helped guests feel more confident about safety. Online check-in, check-out and connected door locks help limit unnecessary physical contact and the exchange of paperwork between guests and staff. “Digital transformation will enable Barrière Group to capitalise on emerging technologies for hospitality, including internet of things, building automation, artificial intelligence and more,” says Eric de Mython, RUCKUS partner account manager for hospitality in southern Europe at CommScope. “RUCKUS technology can provide the scalability and futureproofing that Barrière requires to support the delivery of new services, higher demand and even new businesses. Together with Wifirst, we are creating a blueprint for service excellence now and into the future.” “The Wi-Fi solution developed by Wifirst with CommScope RUCKUS will allow us to move forward with our vision for digital transformation,” says Anglade. “Our new infrastructure will make it possible to integrate technology advances across our properties and throughout the entire customer journey.” ●
