Reliable signal, no matter what Barrière creates a beautiful escape where tradition and sophistication are as magnificent today as they were 100 years ago. But historic hotels, while they are a pleasure to stay in, can have inconsistent Wi-Fi signal. RUCKUS access points use patented antenna and channel technologies to choose the best performing paths and channels, and even adapt to changes in environment or the device used by guests. RUCKUS Wi-Fi easily covers high- density environments that can present problems for many wireless vendors – such as conference and seminar rooms, lobbies, restaurants and bars. The network will also support Barrière’s 7,000 meticulously trained staff with mobile applications for housekeeping, catering, maintenance and other departments. “While coverage has expanded and usage has increased, thanks to the efficiency of RUCKUS technology there has been no increase in energy consumption, maintenance or internet costs,” says Detrie. “In addition, booking scores have gone up at properties on the new network.”


Enhanced guest experience Many guest services are being introduced or enhanced. Guests have the option to check in via their mobile device, download their keys to their smartphones and go straight to their rooms. They can also extend their stays, check out or change rooms without going to the front desk. Connected door locks complete the online registration experience. During the Covid-19 pandemic, all of these contactless conveniences have helped guests feel more confident about safety. Online check-in, check-out and connected door locks help limit unnecessary physical contact and the exchange of paperwork between guests and staff. “Digital transformation will enable Barrière Group to capitalise on emerging technologies for hospitality, including internet of things, building automation, artificial intelligence and more,” says Eric de Mython, RUCKUS partner account manager for hospitality in southern Europe at CommScope. “RUCKUS technology can provide the scalability and futureproofing that Barrière requires to support the delivery of new services, higher demand and even new businesses.
