Verified documentation is needed to build the sustainable communities of the future.
We have identified a major demand for expert advice on products. Uncertainty is a fact, and we will add value for the industry through our experience and know-how.
Document what’s being built As more and more developers choose to build with wood, whether for facade cladding or entire structures, the many players involved face having to select wood products that meet specific fire safety requirements. Building with wood is one thing, but building with fire-retar- dant treated wood places requires more understanding of how the wood product can be used and what the installation requirements are, depending on the product’s fire class rating. Factors like installation condition, air gaps, insulation, and wood thickness and density play a decisive role in deciding whether or not to procure a certain product. Woodsafe sees a risk in downstream users looking only at cost and fire class designation but disregarding the installation prerequisites and suitability for end use. Using a wood product that meets fire safety requirements without considering installation conditions and other characteristics does not spell out sustainable construction for the future.
Require documentation for long-term sustainable construction Woodsafe can provide expertise and advice. Since 2008, we have been subject to third-party production control including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 compliance. We can and will be able to help address downstream users’ questions and doubts. This we do for ourselves, for the industry, and for a sustainable building in Europe.
Thomas Bengtsson. CEO and Founder of Woodsafe Timber Protection
Founded 2002, Woodsafe Timber Protection has grown to the largest Scandinavian manufacturer of flameretar- dant treated solid wood and panels.
Team Woodsafe focus only on one thing, flame safety of wood. That is our top competence. Every year, more than 1,200 unique projects are handled, where selected partners create added value from the wood’s properties against fire so that the contractor can create sustainable buildings. But fire safety is more than just a fire class. Woodsafe is the only Scandinavian manufacturer that complies with EN16755 EXT, which is a stricter standard for long-term durability compared to BS-EN16755 EXT.
Flame retardant wood from Woodsafe is produced from own solar energy where all material is handled with electrified forklifts and CO2 neutral heat source. Choosing Woodsafe provides added value for sustainable construction with a focus on the UN Global Goals 2030. Woodsafe is a certified manufacturer with possession of type approval certificate for example, multi-storey facade CE certification according to EN14915, EN13986, WPA Benchmark approved treater, third-party factory controlled with system ISO 9001, 14001.
