Luka Koper, Slovenia’s main container terminal is making significant strides to modernize its operations, focusing on sustainability.

is investing heavily in technology and infrastructure, with the goal of becoming one of the most efficient and sustainable


ports in the region. With the addition of the electric RTGs and other modern equipment, Luka Koper is positioning itself to handle the increasing demand for containerized cargo while staying aligned with global sustainability trends. Further afield, in Vietnam, Hai Phong Port is also undergoing a major transformation, with a focus on expanding its capacity to handle larger vessels and higher container volumes. The port has recently received three ship-to-shore gantry cranes from Mitsui E&S, Japan.


These cranes are part of the port’s ongoing investment in its international gateway at Lach Huyen, where the construction of two new container terminals is underway. These terminals are expected to play a key role in increasing the port’s container handling capacity, helping it become a more competitive player in the global shipping market.
