Serving major players in the nuclear sector For more than 30 years, KARL HUGO has produced welded mechanical components for the maintenance and servicing of nuclear power plants in Belgium, Germany, and France. Today, the company’s teams design and build tools and systems enabling safe and controlled interventions within reactor environments.
Organisation and precision: our core strengths KARL HUGO has engineered and built transport lifting beams for containers carrying radioactive fuel, as well as lifting shackles for the Tihange and Doel power plants. The company has also manufactured tools used for the decontamination of radioactive components in France. Lately, KARL HUGO has been contributing to a nuclear decommissioning programme by developing a submersible bandsaw designed to cut underwater sections of the reactor. “Our strength lies in managing the project from concept right through to delivery,” explains David Heinen, Project Engineer. “All our skills and production resources are centralised on a single site.” ■
