d/b/a Marmon Industrial Energy & Infrastructure (Marmon IEI) been supplying specialty electrical cable to the nuclear industry?


For over 50 years, RSCC® d/b/a Marmon IEI has


continuously supported the nuclear industry by manufacturing a wide range of nuclear qualified cables. Products are manufactured in our East Granby facility.


Q2. When did RSCC® RSCC® become part of Marmon Holdings, Inc.?


(a Berkshire Hathaway company) in 1976. In January of 2023, RSCC® to RSCC®


d/b/a Marmon IEI. As such, both


the Marmon IEI and the RSCC® logos indicate products and services performed by RSCC®.


Q3. Where are Marmon IEI cables currently installed?


Our cables are installed in all domestic reactors in the United Sates and internationally in Canada, Korea, China, UAE, as well as nuclear facilities in Europe and South America.


Q4. What design standards are RSCC Nuclear cables designed to?


Our cables are made to IEEE 323 and IEEE 383 for 60 year operating life with no field failures.


Q5. What applications do Marmon IEI cables support in a Nuclear facility?


Marmon IEI power, control, and instrumentation wire and cable can be found in pressurized heaters, reactor heads, squib valves, and other specialized applications. Our prominent product families include: Firewall® III, Firewall® SR, PermaLife™ Medium Voltage, CAT-RAD® Cat 5e and Cat6, Coaxial/Triax/Twinax, and Firezone®.

Q6. Does Marmon IEI have an extensive Quality Management program?


Marmon IEI’s Quality Assurance Program for nuclear products is in accordance with 10CFR50 Appendix B and NQA-1-2008/1a-2009, 10CFR21. It is a fully controlled manufacturing process, starting with incoming raw materials and continuing through the complete manufacturing process, with traceability of each linear foot. Given the importance of safety and reliability in the nuclear industry, the significance of a strong quality program cannot be overstated.


Q7. What does Marmon IEI think of the future of nuclear power?


Marmon IEI has been involved in the nuclear industry for a long time and has not seen another period with this much excitement in the industry as far as development of new technologies. Developments around advanced nuclear designs are promising for a clean energy future amidst growing demand for power. We look forward to being a cable supplier for these new applications.


Q8. How does Marmon IEI stay involved in the Nuclear industry’s growth and development?


Marmon IEI engineers and market leaders stay involved on industry committees for all our markets. In nuclear we are involved with IEEE, SC2, and Cable Users Group. We view our involvement in standards committees as paramount to our service of the markets.
