EFCO | ADVERTORIAL FEATURE

From Precise Machining to Verified Readiness

Restoring components to specification. Proving they are ready to return.

IN HIGH-DEMAND INDUSTRIAL environments, maintenance intervention is only as good as its proven results. EFCO brings both sides of that equation together: portable CNC machining that restores components to specification, and valve testing technology to confirm they are ready to return to service. With decades of experience in the nuclear sector, EFCO has built its reputation on technical capability, long- term partnerships and the mutual trust that demanding environments require. For the engineer facing an outage, every hour counts.

At the centre of EFCO’s machining offering is the TD CNC series, designed for both on-site and workshop use, delivering CNC-grade precision for boring, facing, grooving, taper and radius turning, through intuitive controls with more than ten pre-installed machining cycles. No advanced programming skills are required. Operators run the machine from a mobile panel at a safe distance. A centring unit ensures quick and precise alignment to the machining surface, reducing setup time, while the machine runs each cycle automatically, shortening the overall intervention. In recent deployments on high-pressure turbines,

the TD-2.02 CNC reduced downtime by multiple days. Rather than replacing entire valve assemblies, engineers restored complex contours on-site, reaching valve seats at depths of up to 1,600 mm. Three models cover machining diameters from 0 to 1,450 mm, accommodating a wide range of valve types and sizes. For flange work and groove cutting, the TDF CNC variant extends the platform with a robust machining head optimized for those tasks. But precision machining only tells half the story.

Valve manufacturers and plant operators are required to test every component they produce or repair to satisfy international standards such as DIN EN 12266, ISO 5208, and API 598. EFCO’s testing systems meet this need across the full pressure range, with portable and stationary solutions capable of test pressures of 1,380 bar and above. Each system is configured to the customer’s requirements, with documentation built in. Together, EFCO’s machining and testing solutions close the maintenance loop: components are restored with precision, then validated and documented before going back online. EFCO’s customers don’t just buy a machine – they gain a trusted partner with proven expertise. ■
