AWARDS PHARMACY

IN FOCUS PARTNERSHIP

WORKING IN

Strengthening Care Through Collaboration

The Working in Partnership Award recognises pharmacists and pharmacy professionals who demonstrate outstanding collaboration with external organisations to improve patient care and community health outcomes.

This category celebrates partnerships that are purposeful, sustained and clearly aligned to shared goals, showing how pharmacy can work effectively alongside others to address complex health and social needs.

Open to pharmacy professionals across all settings, the award highlights the importance of collaboration in modern healthcare delivery. Judges look for evidence of structured partnership working with organisations such as GP practices, community and voluntary groups, care providers, local authorities or other health and social care services.

Strong entries demonstrate how these relationships have enhanced access to care, improved patient experience or delivered measurable benefits for specific populations.

The award is particularly focused on partnerships that go beyond informal cooperation. Successful nominations show mutual trust, clear roles and a shared commitment to improving outcomes.

This may include jointly designed services, co-delivered health and wellbeing programmes, referral pathways or outreach initiatives that bring pharmacy expertise directly into community settings. What matters most is the quality and impact of the collaboration, rather than its scale.

Partnership working is increasingly central to the evolving role of community pharmacy.

By working closely with others, pharmacists can reach individuals who may struggle to engage with traditional healthcare models, reduce pressure on overstretched services and ensure more joined-up, person-centred care.

The Working in Partnership Award recognises those who lead this approach with professionalism, empathy and initiative.

Last year’s winner, Elaine Hewlett of McKay Pharmacy demonstrated how sustained, relationship-driven partnership working can build trust, improve confidence in accessing pharmacy services and deliver meaningful health and wellbeing outcomes for vulnerable individuals. Her recognition reflected the depth and integrity of the partnership rather than a single intervention.

The Working in Partnership Award is not limited to any one type of collaboration. Pharmacies of all sizes and locations are encouraged to showcase how they work with others to support their communities.

By highlighting excellence this category aims to promote shared learning and reinforce the value of collaboration in delivering safe, accessible and impactful pharmacy- led care.
