COMMITMENT TO HEALTH & WELLBEING
Advancing Care Through Pharmacy-Led Excellence
The Commitment to Health and Wellbeing Award recognises pharmacists and their teams who are using their professional skills to make a meaningful and sustained difference in patient care. Open to pharmacists working as contractors, employees or in practice-based settings, including independent prescribing pharmacists, this category celebrates exceptional contributions that improve health and wellbeing outcomes through safe, accessible and innovative pharmacy services.
This award reflects the evolving role of pharmacy within modern healthcare. Judges look for clear evidence of how pharmacy-led interventions enhance patient outcomes, increase access to care and respond effectively to local health needs. Strong entries demonstrate how clinical expertise, prescribing capability where applicable and patient-focused service design combine to support both physical and mental wellbeing across diverse communities.
The category places particular value on sustained impact rather than isolated initiatives. Successful nominations often highlight long- term engagement with patients, preventative approaches to health, support for people living with complex or long-term conditions and services designed to reach individuals who may otherwise face

barriers to care. Innovation is encouraged where it delivers clear benefit, whether through new service models, outreach activity or the creative use of pharmacy skills to support wellbeing.
While individual leadership is important, the award also recognises the role of pharmacy teams in delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Pharmacists working alongside their teams can create trusted environments where patients feel supported, listened to, and empowered to engage with their own health. Entries that demonstrate consistency, safety and measurable outcomes consistently resonate with judges.
Last year’s winner, Cathy Smyth of Clear Pharmacy, provided a strong example of the award’s intent. Her work showed how pharmacy-led services, delivered
with empathy and clinical insight, can improve confidence, access to care and overall wellbeing for individuals facing complex health and social challenges. Her recognition reflected sustained commitment and real-world impact rather than a single project.
As healthcare systems continue to place greater emphasis on prevention, early intervention and community-based care, the Commitment to Health and Wellbeing Award highlights the vital contribution pharmacists and their teams make every day.
By celebrating excellence this category recognises pharmacy professionals who lead with compassion, innovate responsibly and place patient wellbeing at the centre of their practice - helping to build healthier, more resilient communities.
