National Pharmacy Association welcomes new Chief Executive The board of the NPA has announced that Henry Gregg, currently Director of External Affairs at Asthma + Lung UK, will be joining the organisation as Chief Executive. He will officially take up the role on Tuesday 27th May following a comprehensive selection process led by the NPA board. Henry brings a wealth of experience in membership organisations, public service and health advocacy.
At Asthma + Lung UK, he has led their campaign to ban cigarettes for everyone born after 2009 and to prohibit smoking outside hospitals, playgrounds and schools. He also championed the use of respiratory vaccines and the management of lung conditions in community pharmacies.
Henry has also worked at the Health Foundation, lobbying government to invest in the NHS, and held senior roles at the London Boroughs of Newham and Barking and Dagenham, where he was Director of Strategy and Culture. He led member relations at the National Housing Federation, where he supported the housing sector in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower fire.
He started his career in Parliament and has a wealth of communications, policy and public
experience to carry on our great work growing the profile of community pharmacy, providing brilliant services to our members, influencing government and supporting our team.

“At a time of huge change and enormous opportunity for the community pharmacy network, we are fortunate to have someone with Henry’s experience and insight to lead the organisation as we respond to the challenges ahead.
“The NPA has made tremendous strides over the past months and has given community pharmacy a greater profile than ever before. I am sure Henry will build on that work to modernise the NPA and ensure we are the strongest possible advocate and servant for the thousands of NPA member pharmacies that are a central part of the health service for millions of people”.
