Mi TAXIS GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH AS UBER DRIVERS FLOCK TO JOIN NUNEATON FIRM
Mi taxis has moved with the times and embraced new technology but still respects ‘old school’ prin- ciples – a rarity in this day and age! Director John Igoe has been work- ing in our industry for over 40- years but is still at the helm of his business every day. He loves the taxi trade, strongly believes in supporting his local community, appreciates his customers and truly cares about his drivers and staff. Loyalty is indeed a rare commod- ity these days, John said: “I am extremely proud of my team at Mi Taxis. Many drivers and members of staff have worked with us for over 25 years and even some of their children have now also joined the team. They all have a great passion for the taxi industry
and it is this passion and drive that has helped the company to succeed and will hopefully enable it to grow in the future.” It is this friendly family environ- ment that has drawn a steady stream of Uber drivers to join the firm, as they are fed up with work- ing for faceless apps which do not appreciate them and offer no support.
One former Uber driver Amit said: “I joined Mi taxis as it is a friendly atmosphere and having an office where I can go to if I need any- thing is great. The office staff are always on hand and it makes you feel part of a team. I like the uni- form, it’s very smart and the work fits round my family life. I also like that the customers know how much the fare is, which makes the job easier. I’ve told all my fellow Uber drivers and many are now choosing to join as well.” It really is good to hear that in this changing world there is still room in our industry for a firm to flour- ish and where an operator knows the names of all his drivers and their children...
