HELP POST-COVID RECOVERY? HAVE DISPATCH PLATFORMS LOST THEIR WAY?


Curb has been monitoring the changing landscape in the UK when it comes to dispatch platforms too, and has accelerat- ed the roll-out of its popular US dispatch platform in Britain; Way2Cloud.


Amos Tamam, Curb CEO, has been personally involved preparing Way2Cloud for the UK market, working closely with the UK team. Way2Cloud is now here, and Amos is pleased to be supporting UK operators and helping them to compete with ride-sharing apps.

In 2019 Curb generated over $120 million, or about a million trips a month for drivers in New York alone through their non-emergency government-sponsored transportation part- nerships and the Curb mobile platform. Its Way2Cloud dispatch platform has been a gamechanger.

Settings and API configuration is flexible, and can be easily tailored to suit all conceivable operator requirements and preferences. Reliability is key too. It’s hosted in robust PCI compliant Curb Mobility data centres and requires no technical infrastucture from fleet operators.

Interface with Way2Cloud is via whichever method is preferred: Web, phone or through the app or API. Via the web, operators can manage immediate, future and recurring

bookings. There’s a call history for each phone number or account on the system, and SMS/IVR/email notifications are sent when jobs are dispatched or have arrived. Vehicles and/or drivers can be pre-assigned and drivers are kept fully informed with automated messaging. Trips are tracked and corporate accounts can be easily managed.


Using the phone, IVR is supported, as is voice recording. ETA auto book and trip recall is also available. A custom greeting can be recorded, whilst calls and users can be prioritised. Caller ID with trip history features, and call playback and download is available. Call retention is included in the multiple- ring strategy, and custom music on hold (MOH) can be uploaded.


Further reservation functionality is available through the apps and API.


DISPATCH MANAGEMENT


An equally comprehensive suite of dispatch management features and benefits are availaible to Way2Cloud users, from a range of dispatch methods and zone settings to Google and TomTom map integration. There’s easy updating of fare rate tables and flat rate prices for popular routes, and for your most important clients, a corporate account dashboard.


Reports can be generated to help operators monitor, manage and view active trips, and reassign and auto-dispatch drivers amongst other things. Dispatch methods can be selected from a comprehensive list of options, and on-screen dash- boards display call stats, trip information and account data. These reports can be downloaded to show trips, calls, customers, corporate accounts, drivers and even text mes- sages sent.


OPERATIONAL SAVINGS AND BENEFITS


As the name implies, Way2Cloud is cloud based. Operators require no servers of their own so there’s no hardware to find space for or maintain, and no software to install. Similarly, no phone system is required and many dispatch functions can be automated. Office personnel will be more productive, relieving pressure on recruitment and payroll.
