point of sale...point of sale... Ford procab™ - “slick about town”
Glasgow’s William Swinburne has been a cabbie for 30 years. He chose to buy the Ford Procab™ a year ago and has been delighted with the end
to end service he has received from Cab Direct. So much so, he came to us to share how happy he is with his Procab™ and to help other drivers make an informed choice. Excellent build quality Built on Ford’s popular Tourneo Custom chassis, the ProCab™ provides a wealth of equipment, space and safety technology, making it the ideal hackney taxi. Just some of the key features include a ready- calibrated taximeter, quick release door system, high-impact protection partition screen and driver controlled remote door locking. On the quality, William stated that “the partition screen and driver door controls are great safety features. When you stop the cab at night, the interior lighting lights up like a Christmas tree - which is great for security.” The new ProCab™ is very distinctive on the road, with its new front grille, spoiler, ten-spoke alloy wheels and stylish taxi graphics kit. Features like heated front seats, front and rear air conditioning, automatic headlights and parking sensors provide a great driving experience. The ProCab™ has more than your average hackney taxi too, with 8” colour TFT touchscreen with satellite navigation, voice activated connectivity and rain sensing wipers. We asked William for his thoughts: “The ProCab™ is far superior to all the hackney taxis that I’ve driven over my 30 years in the industry.” Fuel efficiency Ford’s latest engine offers 20 per cent more torque for maximum power and responsiveness making it a comfortable ride. You will also find yourself better off at the pump: the ProCab™ returns an impressive 44.8mpg on the combined cycle (WLTP). William agrees: “The ProCab™ offers great fuel efficiency, it’s cheap to run and is slick around town!” Great space and easy maintenance Fitted with its six-seat rear compartment and the option of either a single/double seat up front, the ProCab™ can accommodate up to eight passengers in comfort and style. You can also choose to replace the front passenger seats with a front luggage pen, which is a requirement in certain areas such as Glasgow City Council. The
Procab™ is our roomiest ever hackney, with a massive 1180 litre boot – perfect for hotel, train stations or airport runs. All rear seats are EasyWipe™, with high visibility patches which can be easily wiped down when required, getting you back on the rank as quickly as possible. The hard floor is durable and is also easy to hose down if necessary. William explained that “there’s loads of space and storage in my ProCab and it’s an easy cab to maintain”. Access features This cab has excellent access features with an EasyGlide under-floor ramp™ and an EasySlide™ rear seat for improved accessibility. There are self-retracting wheelchair tie-downs, and a lap and diagonal three-point seat belt for your wheelchair passenger. There’s also twin electric side steps and high visibility grab handles to help your passengers enter and exit your cab safely. William concludes: “It’s a quiet, comfortable cab with good visibility, steering control and it handles well in high winds. I’ve had it for a year now and had no problems. In fact, I’ve been really pleased with the service and after care I’ve received from Cab Direct!”

taxi deFence barristers overturn tFl licensing decisions
Taxi Defence Barristers are leading taxi and private hire licensing defence barristers regularly instructed to act for private hire and taxi applicants and licence holders in all matters relating to Transport for London (TfL) licence appeals, refusals, revocations and related licensing matters.
In recent cases successfully challenging TfL decisions, Taxi Defence Barristers have won back licences in the following cases: 1. Mr AH who, after being licensed for over 12 years, had his licence revoked following convictions.
2. The Court quashed the revocation, ordered TfL to pay a significant proportion of Mr NS’ legal fees and pay Mr NS a fixed amount of money to compensate him.
3. Taxi Defence Barristers represented an applicant (Mr MA) who was refused a private hire licence by TfL based on a DBS entry conviction.
4. Weeks before an appeal date, TfL considered the evidence served by Taxi Defence Barristers and decided they no longer wished to contest our appeal.
